30.1 million watched the CFB National Championship Miami/Indiana game

Ok so I think I'm finally coming back to normal after the loss....... So to make myself feel a bit better I bought these...

We also had a Thursday night game and Oregon-Indy had a Friday night game. Friday night nationally televised games are going to get better ratings.
And the population of Mississippi is 2.9 million.
70% that of Oregon. Less than half of Indiana and just slightly more than Miami-Dade county by itself.

No. That can't be. Notre Dame was playing. That's impossible!
Yup it's the dirty little secret that ND doesn't really want anyone to know which is there is no massive national fanbase anymore. There may have been in the 1960s, but there is no evidence based on their yearly watch numbers or their title game numbers or rivalry game numbers that Notre Dame brings a TV audience. They don't.

Really? That’s surprising because if you listen to some of these fools on social media, podcasts, and television they’d have you believe The U is irrelevant and not what they used to be. Still one of the biggest brands in CFB, period.

have their fans posted the results of the imaginary championship game where ND gets our spot and beats Indiana in the championship game? How many fictional viewers do they claim to have? 100 million? Plus an alien civilization would have received the broadcast 300 years from now and Notre Dame would have had an entire alien species converted into ND fans?

I'm sure a lot of that was hate watching. So good for them for getting some jollies. But we'll be back and we're not gonna lose every time.

Regular Season: 36.7M
@College Station: 14.8M
Ohio: 19M
Ole Miss: 15.8M
Hoosiers: 30.1M

Total 116.4M viewers

Next highest in the ACC post-season would be GT at 34M

Anyone know how this viewer based scaling rev share was setup? We're over 3x the next highest lol.

Wisconsin can be upset all they want - the B10 will see the $$$ that can be made from this.

Mario keeps winning and we’re gonna be just fine with Revenue for football until we can get out of the ACC.

The 2026 College Football National Championship delivered massive numbers.

The title game featuring Miami and Indiana drew 30.1 million viewers, with a peak of 33.2 million, according to viewership data. Even with a loss in the national championship, it’s still impressing numbers.

Those numbers made it the second most-watched College Football Playoff National Championship game ever, and the second best cable telecast of all time. It also became the most-watched non-NFL sporting event since Game 7 of the 2016 World Series.

If that’s not impressive enough, this year’s National Championship pulled in 8 million more viewers than last year’s game. Not bad, especially considering a lot of Hurricanes fans probably skipped last year anyway, it featured Ohio State and Notre Dame, two teams Miami fans HATE.

The U still carries real weight. Win or lose, when Miami is involved, people watch, and this championship game was another reminder of that.

I wonder how many of that audience were fans of neither team but just haters of Miami and tuned-in to see us lose?

I’ve spoken about this countless times on here.
Our brand is more popular than people can comprehend. For all of those living in other states, you’re gonna start seeing people wear our sht everywhere. Wanna know what kids are gonna ask their pops for? Canes gear.

When I served from 90-94 I found cane fans from everywhere.

Makes you wonder why the SEC or Big Ten wouldn't want Miami in their conferences. Big Draw. Great matchups: Miami-PSU, Miami-OSU, Miami-LSU, Miami-Texas, etc etc

What makes you think they don’t want Miami? The only reason Miami is in the ACC is due to the grant of rights. 2029-2031, the acc blows up.
