3 Reasons we're even better than what we saw!

I think the chemistry between TVD and the WRs will get better as the year goes by. Especially Young who did not play much with TVD last season.

We are also going to pull more plays out of the playbook (I know, we say it every season). Probably more misdirection and eye candy with the two tailback sets that I love.

I hope:

RB depth as has been mentioned could get better with CJ and/or Citizen gradually getting reps if healthy.

Defense should get better just by looking at film and getting their communication down along with trusting the system as the year goes by.

Special teams should get better cause these next few weeks they will be emphasizing it a lot and polishing things up until the big conference games.

Penalties? You guys are worried about Penalties?

Just wait until we play UNC and NC State. You haven't seen Penalties yet. Those Tobacco Road ba$tard$ will throw flags on us for stuff the team did back in the Seventies.

I wouldnt expect penalties to drop too too much if we are going on historical performance. Believe it or not, Mario’s teams tend to historically rank on the higher side of penalized teams. Fairly undisciplined play for such a disciplinarian.

We split out McCormick and definitely Williams quite a few times when we went twins on both sides. Our starting 3 wide outs caught 17 of 21 completions. Horton caught the 18th. Sometimes you go with the hot hands. McCormick got a really nice seam pass. He is going to be the forgotten guy and should get a target or 2 a game.
He was the escape valve on that completion. TVD was looking for X.

One of my favorite plays from TVD. That's the stuff we need. Good breakdown by Roman.

And Ray Ray still on the leash.
CJ still on the squat rack.
Arroyo eating raw beef hearts and liver recovering.

Harrel
Chase Smith
The Brothers Washington.
RPO or Wildcat with JB

The bag is still half full.

Seems like the run game was used to keep them Honest.
But there were a few runs that went for first downs and even more on key drives and key moments.

If we hadn’t fallen behind so quick with the mistakes I fell like we would’ve pounded them into submission.

Don’t think the game plan was to go full pass happy. We just needed to score points and shrink that 14 point special teams blunders.

If you look at the replay our oline still got some huge wholes on that 5 star dline even when we showed run.
Dawson said he was very pleased with the run game.

We had a punt blocked that gave A&M an easy score.
We had a muffed punt which gave A&M an easy score.
We ran for 77 total yards.
We went 3-9 on third down.
We had 115 yards in penalties.

None of that even mattered because we had explosive plays in the passing game and a KO return TD.
Explosive plays win games. Period.

There were "could've"s both ways - which means we were the better team by 2 scores. And that''s heartening.

Anez Cooper is on a trajectory to be a 1st rounder. Dude is just mauling people.
I don’t know about 1st round for Anez, but that play in the video breakdown is him giving McKinley Jackson (Senior) a fairly decent *** whipping on that rep. Jackson is projected to be drafted in ‘24. So, we’ve got that going for us, which is nice.
