1. Dawson. The big question with him is the unknown if he is capable of knowing how to maximize the talent upgrades with made and knowing how to get the most of of the pieces he's playing with. He was all over the map last year with some games he looked amazing and other where we just scratched our heads having flashbacks to Patrick Nix and Dan Enos. We never knew what we were going to get and our QB regressed under him immensely. Yes, it's easier to be good at your job when you have talent surrounding you but he can not be the weakest link on the offense. Only time will tell if he can show how to adjust mid game and consistently use creativity he flashed last night beyond the same 5 plays he ran.

2. Toughness. We got bullied by Greg Schiano and an average Rutgers team the last time we saw our team play. Please save us the "it was a meaningless bowl" as it's a deeper issue of culture then if that's the mentality the guys took. There needs to be a visible difference on the line of scrimmage when it comes to physicality on both sides of the ball with how well we've recruited there.

3. Inferior Teams. Something that we've struggled with for way too long is consistently dominating inferior teams primarily the ones in the ACC. Good teams put bad teams away and that is something that we need to see improvement with this year. The middle of the pack and bottom ACC teams can't have any business of hanging around in games well into the 4th quarter. Plenty of this is put on coaching which is already been put on notice. If we can bury teams early, it will be a sign of things getting better with the talent we've acquired.

On a serious note, I agree with #1 for sure.

#3 is where I say yes, we should dominate, but even the best teams in CFB regularly struggle with inferior teams. The difference is they still manage to win those games. Meanwhile, it's a coin flip whether we will even pull a win on a team where we are a 10+ point favorite. It's not about burying or dominating the Georgia Techs and FIUs of the world, it's just coming away a W, even if it's ugly.

Am with you all the way on number 2.

Culture remains a consistent issue despite a bunch of tough talk every offseason.

1. Turnovers: We were 94 last year in turnover ratio according to NCAA.com stats. That's 94th worst out of 133 teams. I'm actually surprised we weren't lower.

2. Penalties. We were 80 last year in penalties per game with 6.2 per game according to teamrankings.com. We were 106 in penalty yards per game with 59.8 yds per game. Thats 80th and 106th worst.

3. Short yardage play calling (lack of creativity). Thought we were good in short yardage first few games. Even against ATM, Dawson had some short yardage passes that worked. Once we started conference play, we started getting stuffed majority of the time on those 3rd and 1, 4th and 1 runs. It was brutal. Didn't see any many attempts to create mismatches in space. Just run up the gut.

1.) TVD didn't regress under Gattis too? I agree Dawson has to prove himself but TVD was horrible.

2.) I agree here. Hoping the culture changed for good.

3.) this.....
