3/23/24 Game 23: ND 12-10 L

I think our plate approach has been bad for decades now. These guys somehow manage to take pitches for strikes right in their wheelhouse, then flail away at the pitcher's pitch. We are too reliant on a pitcher making mistakes. Whenever a guy comes along and shows decent command, we are cooked.

You're 100% right. Long is our best defender and with speed. He has to play everyday regardless of how he's hitting.

What makes matters even more agregious is we have no other outfielder on the team with his speed and range. Plus, we're getting very little production out of RF. It makes too much sense to move Villegas to RF and Long the everyday CF.

Problem is Long is his own island . Seems that friends and family and transfers they try to make work etc (Costello, Gomez et al ) get the preference no matter what occurs game day .
Gomez was 0-20 beginning last season and continued to start .
