Good series win against #13 in nation and a top team in ACC . So close to a sweep with more shutdown pitching. Too bad we don't have a Palmquist or AOD this year.

Nice series win vis a vis where we all thought we'd be prior to the start of it.

My thoughts:
Our best players are as good as anyone in the country ... just need more of them.

JD has the potential to be a decent head coach if he delegates well and recruits like Cristobal; and his quick hook w relievers is encouraging.

O'Connor seems to be slipping a la Morris in his final years.

UNC series win is attainable...

Lost a series to ECU, their only decent competition this far.

UNC is much better than Miami. Good defensively, lineup does their job although it’s not as deep as you normally see from a top 15 team. Honeycutt is a star, Madera and Cook are very good hitters. The UGA transfer is better than what he’s shown up to this point. The bottom of their lineup is all older guys who are capable.

They lost their Friday guy and the freshman that took his spot is not impressive. You have to take advantage of that and get into their bullpen, which isn’t as good as usual outside of their closer. Their best pitcher by far, is the NY kid who starts Saturdays. 91-94, good slider, good changeup, and throws a ton of strikes. Sunday guy is good enough to get wins.

They are better right now, than UVA. You have to win Friday.
