2x QBs Spread option....

So imagine 2 dual-threat QB's in every play... QB1 in the traditional spread-option role and QB2 in the RB position:

You have 2 potential runners who are also capable passers. EITHER option can mean run or pass....

Opposing defenses would be absolutely FROZEN because they will never know which option is happening when.

Has anyone every seen this in actual use?

Little league might be a good place for this type of idea. Or flag football.

If it bothers some of your simple minds.... let me flip it around on you...

What if you bring/recruit an RB who is also a proficient passer?

Make you feel better?

My theoratical question still is-- what happens to opposing defenses when you have 2 players capable of running and passing?

It blows the playbook wide open and is going to be tricky for defenses to figure out but the risk of the spread option just increased 2x

i actually ran a few plays per game whyen i coached youth league ball where we( this was many years ago) ran basically that- line up a second Q in backfield, shotgun formation, snap could go to either. It was pre spread time, and it was 13-14 year olds, but i always thought it could work at a higher level. You can motion one of them out, it does create confusion and indecision on the D. These guys can all bust your b----, but someone will implement this in CFB. These are the same guys who laughed at throwing the ball 50 times a game and playing with no one in the backfield.

We pulled this with Tate in the first game, but we never threatened to throw it with him

Yeah I don't see that. The way you phrase everything I think you're better off with a running back that can throw. There's plenty of running backs that have played quarterback in high school (DJ). Plus it would be nice to have someone who could pass block and do all the other running back activities.
