Elite testing numbers, three-down ability to cover or rush, and they feel good about his frame seeing him in person. This is a Heatherman guy and Heatherman highly values verified testing.

In fairness, if this guy is LB3 in the class when all is said and done, it's fine developmental eval/gamble.

The 6'1 is verified. He was 194 in February at the camp (my biggest concern) but I believe he was heavier on his visit. The number I was told was "Top 5 percentile tester" as compared to LBs.

That said, he needs to show up on campus in six months closer to 210.

A little confusing after watching the highlights... I thought we were looking for more size and pop at LB. But he's a smaller guy, and in nearly 4 minutes of highlights, I counted 2 tackles that weren't wrap/drag downs or from behind.

Exception, meet rule. And it isn't just about size. Smaller LBs are fine, when they square up their pads and thump in HS. Smaller LB who want to rugby tackle all day....
