247 taking the Offensive in support of Gattis

I watched every minute. So, Garcia didn't play well and that is Gattis's fault.

We had 7-8 turnovers against Duke and that is Gattis's fault as well.

He deserves some criticism with his play calling, but a lot of people are just unrealistic.
Cmon man. We haven’t scored more than 20 points against a P5 team this year. Horrible red zone play calling, QB reads on 3rd and long with Van Dyke, repeatedly running the ball into a brick wall for three plays straight and then punting.

We’ve had some injuries. And some players playing poorly. But the majority of this is on Gattis. He’s not a good play caller

Great now that makes it harder for me to dislike Gattis
Lon is a huge beatdick jackhole

And for the record, for all of us in the Gattis hasn’t been good enough camp, that doesn’t mean we arent acknowledging that the offense has had injuries and players underperforming too.

The criticism isn’t binary

But you trying to defend Gattis is laughable

I'm defending against the dillusional and stupidity.

Do some research on year 1 transitions in college football.

The coaches that land in a good culture and have a good roster have done well such as Oregon this year. Those are few and far between.

Take a look at UVA. Brennan is struggling this year and the team isn't very good. You going to tell me Tony Elliot can't coach and is to blame?

Applying the Miami fanbase logic, Elliot is a complete failure. He had so much success at Clemson and now he can't do ****!!! He sucks!!! He should be fired!!!

Look at yourself through the eyes of UVA. Judge Gattis the same way you would Elliot.

They didn't score a TD either.

Clemson fans actually despised Elliot. The last time they were happy with their offense Scott was coaching it.

Anyway, if you don't even know the basic X and O's enough to decipher the poor job Gattis is doing, theres plenty of resources from people who do.

Check out the OBB podcast. They can breakdown specifically why this offense just isn't going to work the way its being called... Rosier, coming from the most basic Richt offense, pointed out on there that the routes concepts are completely predictable and unimaginative.

Sometimes people actually know what they're talking about on here.

Why do fans think a year 1 coach is supposed to knock it out of the park implementing a new scheme and doing so with an injured roster?

That's the exception.

STOP being dillusional.
Certainly there’s some middle ground between knocking it out of the park and what we are seeing isn’t there?

Why always with the extremes with people

Like yeah sure Mario walked in to a lot of issues

He still lost to MTSU

Isn’t just throwing out extremes delusional?

Actually, their fan base wasn't happy with him as a solo playcaller either. There was an immediate difference in the offense when Scott moved on....

You make some valid points about change but come on..... Even the people who break down game film and criticize the players also point out that his route trees and general red zone playcalling do not help the offense succeed. All that talk about adapting to personnel was exactly that, talk, until he was pretty much forced to do something.

Also, it took until game 5 for Gattis and Ponce to sit down with TVD and compare notes on game plan

How that didn’t happen Gattis’ first week on the job is beyond me

This is not a defense of Gattis...but a question.

I'm curious of the players - outside of TVD - that you all think are playing worse this year than in previous years on the offensive side of the ball. We lost a significant percentage of the marketshare of yards this offense generated last year with graduations and the offense has struggled to replace their production. Even still, you're seeing the best play from players that probably aren't equipped to carry the load of an offense to expected results.

We all universally understand Manny Diaz was pretty bad as a head coach, developer, evaluator, and even recruiter...so when a team is required to use his players to succeed (not even his ace players, just, guys that have barely played for Miami in some instances in previous years)...this is what that looks like.

I'd say nobody is playing WORSE (again, other than TVD)...which should tell you that these players aren't exactly what you think they are.

I'm guessing you aren't cracking open beers with Earl Sr. Earl was always an odd personality IMO. Took life WAY too seriously.
I knew Earl real well when he was at UM....He was Marlin Barnes roommate at UM, and was the one to find Marlin & his Girlfriends dead (Blungeoned) bodies as well.
