24 Points against unc is PATHETIC

People really wanted us to leave the ACC and go to B10 or SEC…..

This Unc defense is a joke. Offense is completely to blame for the loss again.

500 yards and 17 points with 2 minutes left….

I’m ****ed with Gattis but his track record says this the point where he takes a jump. Passing game was miles better, regardless of opponent.

We have to throw more explosive shots( they are there), finish drives, and cut the momentum killing bad calls.

That fade route to Young was money. Why are we just now doing that? To him or the other receivers ?

Who cares about yardage? Notre Dame putting up half a hundo. Have you seen their offense?

If Gattis is retained , then Mario ain’t that dude . This off-season will tell me everything I need to know . In life it’s ok to make a mistake , just recognize it quickly and act immediately. I’ve seen everything I need to see in terms of this system and the play calling tendencies.

I'm not blaming mario/mirabal. I'm blaming gattis for running the ball so many times inside the 5 yd line when it was clear you weren't getting a push. A good coach recognizes that his team's shortcomings and adapts. He didn't, he just kept running the ball - That's a coaching problem

And I agree no one executes perfectly. But our offensive gameplan is forcing our players to do so in order to manufacture points. This same team was averaging 34 ppg last year. And that's because Lashlee's scheme is simplistic and our guys weren't thinking, they were just executing at a high level.

This scheme forces them to think which slows them down. This team could easily be 4-1/5-0 if we coached to our players' strengths and not tried to fit a square peg into a round hole.
I feel you..but bro you not throwing the ball 3 Times with ball inside the 3 in that situation..your looking in complete hindsight..and I get that.

I agree on the Lashlee point. Then ill counter you with how many times did ppl say we were “soft”..but yes Lashlee Schemed up a lot gimme plays and create matchups ..that offense also stalled against any D with a pulse..but TODAY Gattis play calling and adjustments were not the issue..I’m not exactly sure what the strengths of this O is at the moment..I think we figured out a few things today and hopefully this game Gives TVD confidence..The O left points on the board Imo

No doubt. That first third down, the first red zone, the knighton fumble. I’m sure I’m missing something. Andy missed field goal
Tecory Couch's dropped interception in the end zone. Carolina scored on the next play on 4th down I believe. Then Mallory dropped a 3rd and 2 pass that was a sure first down in the 2nd half.

The RedZone clown show where we had 6 plays from inside the 4 and couldn't punch it in. Lining up for a 53 yard field goal. Coming out in the 2nd half and slowing the pace down instead of keeping the foot on the gas.

We hold them to 6 2nd half points after being down by 4 at halftime and had TVD throw for 500 yards and still lose. I'm not giving up on or hating on Mario but the way he manages games is just atrocious. It's boring play not to lose gutless football. Then when he gets aggressive he still makes the dumbest decisions. Going for an onside kick with 2:20 left and 2 TOs was just plain idiotic. The difference in field position could have won the game.

What did Unc do vs Tech last week?..UNC loaded the box all day and we burned them..600 yards of offense is not a fire able offense
Virginia Tech might be top 10 worst teams in D1. Why are you comparing Miami to anything with them? App State scored at will against Unc. We could’nt do didly crap against Unc in the 2nd half. All while being At home. Wake up

I’m not looking in hindsight. I very much remember saying “throw the ball!” in that situation. I understand you have to run the ball at least once but you should at least throw it once or twice on second and/or third down if you can’t move the ball on first down. If anything passing keeps the defense honest instead of just letting them tee off on your rb since you’re so predictable.

Lashlee’s wasn’t perfect but it was functional in that it would score points. I fully get that Mario wants to breed toughness in the mold of bama/uga but we don’t have the horses to do that. What they should be doing is a mix of both to give us a chance.

I do think Gattis made strides today in helping TVD get his strides but he is still to blame for scoring 24 points on 500 yds of offense. This was similar to the A&M game. If Gattis throws a pass inside the 5 maybe we score. If he throws the ball instead of calling a draw play on 3rd and 2 when you’ve shown you can’t run the ball maybe the offense stays on the field.

It’s just poor situational play calling and quite honestly after 5 games there’s enough data to be able to call it what it is.

This team is void of talented playmakers
I don’t see one players that flashes
NOT ONE
And that goes for both sides of thenball

I agree. Even if you lose your starting center, backup center, and starting right guard; You shouldn't get whooped that bad.

Did you even watch the game?

Traore was only in for one god**** snap.

Scaife and Olewascrub where getting MASHED ALL DAY in the running game until they got hurt.

A lot of y’all think this Xbox or madden..you look at the situations..this team has been put in situations to make plays. Your at the 2 in a goal to go situation. Not converting that is execution ultimately. 4th down you drop a crosser. 4th down you fumble the bal..500 yards and 24 points means I’m not looking at the OC. He put guys in position..again hindsight is alway 100%…this team was not converting short yardage situations last seasons and y’all swore it was cause all we ran was inside zones..we ran every variety of run plays yesterday and was stuffed. Down 3 linemen. It’s clear this groups strength is pass pro. It’s the personnel. That part will get fixed. Just a dose of reality right now and it sucks

Bro you're reaching. It's not madden or xbox to call a pass play on second down at the goal line when you're clearly getting stuffed any time you try to run the ball. Most OC's would at least try to pass the ball and keep the defense honest. And this is not in hindsight i was literally yelling at the tv to pass the ball on second down.

This team put up points last year with very similar personnel, its that simple. And I'm not saying Lashlee's offense was perfect but if Lashlee put up 500 yds of offense we were gonna score 30+ points. This scheme is bad man that's all it is to it. FAMU ran more than us against unc at a higher ypc stat line. Think about that. FAMU ran the ball better than we did. App State put up 61 pts on UNC. And is it possible UNC improved dramatically... sure but it's unlikely that its that big of a jump and I think you'll see Duke have more success than we did next week against them.

Are these players perfect? No... But we're certainly talented enough to do better, lashlee proved that last year. What we have here is an OC that is a bad situational play caller. He definitely adjusted to his talent in this game (because he had to) and opened it up a little more but still leaned on bad tendencies on critical situations.

You play to win the game and I would love to be able to play smash mouth ball and run it down their throats. But the ultimate goal is to win the game and if that means TVD has to throw it 80 times because we can't run for our lives then that's what you do. And that's what Gattis is unwilling to do.
