Quick thoughts:

• 2008...this is the Spaceballs Ludicrous Speed of recruiting. We signed nine linebackers. And unsurprisingly, brought in none the following year
• Miami only signed two blue-chip linebackers between 2017 and 2020
• Since 2021, Miami has brought in at least one blue-chip linebacker with each signing class

The nine incoming freshmen in one class…that’s almost an entire normal room coming in, in one year. It’s like signing 16 offensive linemen in one class.

How were our two "linebacker guru" coaches Shannon/Diaz so bad at signing quality linebackers? I guess Shannon did alright in 2008, but when you sign 9 linebackers a couple of them better contribute.
