2027 Men's Basketball Recruiting







Interesting domino about to fall.
Especially if he reclasses to 2026.
Michigan and Vanderbilt are increasing NIL offer but it looks like he is headed to Arkansas to play in 2026.
Which means Arkansas is still recruiting Beckham Black for 2027.

So his visits consist of Alabama, Iowa, LSU and Oklahoma.
Feels like he is not going too far from the Midwest for college.
 
I’d wager he’s going to keep playing with Ahmad Hudson at LSU if we’re not involved there.
 


Lewis Uvwo, 6'10, C, Prolific Prep (Fla.), 2027

It's been a wild ride in the past seven months for Lewis Uvwo. He made the journey from Nigeria to Prolific Prep and initially came off the bench for the national power, only to then win MVP of the Pangos All American Preview, lead EYBL in blocks with Nightrydas, and ultimately win Co-MVP of the Pangos All-American Camp with camp teammate Malachi Gordon. The long armed big man played with infectious energy on both ends of the hardwood and has a joy and passion for the game you just can't teach.

Akol Nyok, 7'1, C, Christopher Columbus HS (Fla.), 2027

After exploding during the Puma PRO16 league with Tre Mann Elite, Akol Nyok rode that wave over to the Pangos All American Camp. The Sudanese big man was exceptional running the floor, showed the agility to defend in space during switches, and showcased his soft touch when the opportunity permitted. Leading the camp in blocked shots at 4.0 per game, Nyok is no longer a secret and has now picked up high major offers.

Fallilou Mbengue, 6'9, PF, The Academy of Central Florida (Fla.), 2027

A player who I had seen minimally leading into the event, Fallilou Mbengue left his mark with his play at the Pangos All American Camp. The native of the UK exhibited his athleticism as an above the rim finisher, showed intriguing range shooting it from the perimeter, and left an impact on the game with his crazy energy. Still under the radar nationally, Mbengue's improvement over the past six months and play at Pangos have placed him firmly in the conversation as a high major prospect.

Given that Andrew Moran coached with the NightRydas and at Christopher Columbus, Miami should have an advantage for Ovwo and Ajok.
I don't see him as another DJ Irving type assistant coach.
 


A lot of good competition at PG but I think Cayden Daughtry makes the squad.
Its interesting to see guys like AJ Williams ans Draydne McDaniel competing on the U17 team.

Jordan Mize and JJ Crawford are pros. Both playing on JJ’s dad team

Very tough grouping to whittle down to 12
 


Coach Cal gets his first of two guards. I am sure Beckham Black will be the second guard he gets in the 2027 class.
 


Lewis Uvwo continues to surge up the national rankings in the 2027 class, recently moving from outside the top 90 prospects into the top 20 nationally. His rapid rise has been fueled largely by his elite defensive presence, and he showed exactly why during Wednesday’s action.

The 6-foot-10 standout was one of the most impactful players on the floor, consistently protecting the rim and altering shots around the basket. Opponents struggled to finish against him, as he repeatedly turned away scoring attempts and immediately sparked fast-break opportunities for his team. His energy, activity level, and ability to change the game defensively stood out throughout the event.

Beyond the blocked shots, Uvwo’s motor and enthusiasm were impossible to miss. He brought a level of intensity that energized teammates and helped swing momentum during key stretches of play.

College programs from across the country are already paying close attention. With scholarship offers from major schools including Arkansas, Baylor, BYU, Illinois, Kansas, and Kentucky, Uvwo is emerging as one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Based on his performance, it’s easy to understand why his stock continues to climb.

Jai Lucas and every other head coach was at this event. Justin Wise also had a really good showing: scored 18 points during his session. Wise would be such a difference maker for us; kid is going to rise in the rankings.
