2027 Men's Basketball Recruiting


Curious to the boards thoughts on this kid. I’m not a bball expert by any means…

The dad is a former classmate of mine. Kid looks smooth and is a walking bucket. But best of all…. He comes from a great family and has a great head on his shoulders. Kid is always grinding/working on his craft. But he’s also been sheltered/protected from joining aau/travel so I’m not sure he gets the eyes he should be getting.

Then again you bball experts might think he’s no more than D3 level.

Going to be a long process. Louisville and Tennessee are two of the schools recruiting him the hardest. Tennessee recently offered but they’ve been talking to him for a while.

Mo Williams on UK’s staff says they play similar and that’s a bonus for Cayden who wants to go to a school that will allow him to play through mistakes, play fast paced, and trust that his game/style will result in wins.

Says he wants to sign in the early signing period, that’s what he is aiming for but that’s no guarantee.

I love talking with Coach (Erik) Pastrana. Talking about how they play, how the ACC is, and how I would be a really good fit. Obviously, I see the fit, too. I really like the connection I have with the coach, Jai Lucas is really soft-spoken and really cool. They have some really cool guys over there.

Florida is creeping in as well, he talked about Boogie Fland and Walter Clayton.

Says he is aiming to take 8-9 visits mostly during football season. Iowa is the only one set so far and this week will be a big week for cutting down his list to 10 or 12 as he has a lot of schools recruiting him.

Mentioned UConn’s winning and Bennett stirtz from Iowa as well.

He says the only major recent change is dusty may leaving because May has been recruiting him for a year straight but he is still interested in building a relationship with the other Michigan coaches. He also said the main assistant he talked to for Michigan left with May.

Knowing the Erik Pastrana is leading the recruitment is really good news. Pastrana got Asa Newell to UGA before he became a 1st round pick and no one saw that coming.
It's not a done deal but I feel better about the situation.
