Yea I thought McClain too. Hes a very good CB now, but was he worth the headache if it took him 3 yrs to be what he is now?

IMO there are 5 program changing misses in the last 20 years. None are DEs or safeties.

1. Amari cooper wr
2. Jeremiah smith wr
3. Patrick Peterson Cb
4. Dalvin Cook rb
5. Teddy Bridgewater QB (kind of honorable mention, I think he was committed to Shannon not sure how close we got).

This kid isn’t going to move the needle on our future. Miami has been elite at identifying and recruiting DEs. Not too worried about missing on this kid especially when you can get proven college production from freshman DEs in the portal.

I think it's more of a Stone situation with Oklahoma. He's a kid that seems to have a solid support system around him and still decided to play games.

If he goes to Ohio State he'll likely be an impact player. That system is strong and the kid will be coached by LJ Sr.

But he'll look back on this years from now and regret ruining relationships with Mario & Co. The football community is small and Mario's influence is significant.

Stone’s agent knew where he was going for months. So did his parents. Miami got played because the kid just told people what they wanted to hear.

And you believe this kid actually decided OSU 11 minutes before he picked up the hat? Lol.

Miami got played in this situation because the kid told Miami what they wanted to hear. What exactly is the difference?

Committing elsewhere or decommitting is something i don't hold against kids. Kids can be overwhelmed, especially if they don't have a good support system.

How they go about doing it is something i do hold against them. That is all about character. Character plays a key role in how kids develop as players, teammates, and individual people.....and i'd be much more comfortable spending time and money on kids with higher character, as i expect those kids have a higher probability to meet their potential.

I agree. I guess my thing is how’d he treat the staff. If he was upfront with them about it or mature then trolling the sites and insiders doesn’t bother me. If he blew smoke up Mario’s *** for weeks just to pull the rug at the 12th hour it’d take some maturity and humbling for me to entertain the kid again. Regardless of talent.
