Our OL recruiting was the best class last year. I’m not really worried about OL. We still took lots of projects the previous years at OL but we were super aggressive last year.

My concern is more on DL than OL. I wish we were more consistent with these top tier kids. I know we missed on a few kids last several classes. Hence, my frustration on whiffing on this kid. Let’s see how move moving forward.

This is why it's probably best we focus more on scouting. So difficult for us historically to get these 5* kids. Even when we're on top, they'd go to FSU. Plenty of 4* kids better than these 5*, but we need to find em at a higher clip than anyone. Portal kids also seem easier to recruit for us. Kids are a little more mature by then

We won and you are moping about it. Back to Jacobs -- I agree with @Hurracanes -- the more of these players we get the better, it is what gets us to the top of the mountain. Just take the L. Dude committed to OSU and ya'll are shellshocked. It is a bummer and the board 100% hoped to stick it to OSU before the game being petty and they hit us in the mouth.

We have our biggest game in 20 years in 2 days and you are derailing a recruiting thread worrying about posters not pounding their chest enough.

**** Ohio State. Beat them on the field. Then steal this dude back.
 
Some of you really like to spin huh. How many top 5 classes has mario gotten since hes been here? How many has OSU gotten in same span? There are reasons for it sure like miami being a doormat for better part of 20 years but lets not act like landing cantwell or francis makes an entire class. What happened to all those top flips we were supposedly getting in 26 in the trenches like wilson or tank jones? To act like losing the #1 overall prospect to a team we are directly competing against in a game this week and that miami has hit more than they have missed under mario is disingenuous. Mario sets out for the top class each year. We just haven't gotten it done. Jae lamar, tristen keys, lamar brown, tyler atkinson, trenton Henderson. And thats just last year. I can keep going. Miami needs to start landing at a better clip to not be so dependent on portal where prices are higher and pickings for elite talent are slimmer. Especially for those caliber of athletes

To ignore our recruiting misses is just being a disingenuous homer. Look no further than our LBs and how we attack the portal. We didn't remake our entire secondary this year and bring in blay etc because we had been killing recruiting and evaluating at those spots...

You miss the whole point your actions speak louder than your words. You could care less if we win you have proved that. I’m not shocked at all which is why I didn’t watch I know better and I’m sure we will get ours.

What can Miami do here? If we are the high money offer, elite position coach in Taylor, playoff team, excellent school, resort style campus. Some kids just are not gonna be Canes and will take discounts to ride that Ohio D. We will get some monsters with the couple million allocated here.

You are mad that the mopes have been correct about the coaching all season, Mario adjusted after SMU as mopes + @Cribby + @k9cane and several others had been calling for and all are happy about winning -- as we said was the goal the whole time.

I am critical of him when it is merited. You just have an obsessive hard on for him. Dude like 70% of your posts are either bashing the program or Mario. You are relentless with it. Not to pick on you, I’m sure there are many others like you, I guess maybe it’s your avi that sticks out and makes me notice.

Also, I’m not angry about anything. Just pointing out the negativity that infects this site. And you and your ilk are constantly driving a negative narrative, so we miss on one recruit, who again, by the way, is a year away from signing, and you hungrily latch on like a lamprey. Again get some help and get your life in order.

Have a better scouting department than anyone. Build this program with 4* players like Baby Jesus and Fitzgerald. Just like the old days.

Thats fine. Truth hurts. Hoping we can win on Wednesday and begin to really see the fruits of Mario’s labor. This is most talent miami has had in years and yet will not be the most talented team on the field Wednesday. Both can be true and doesn't predetermine any outcome. But to ignore that fact is stupid. Vegas doesn't make money by setting bad lines...

To your point, I do think the staff got screwed and I don’t know what they could have done to fix it. They can do only so much. It’s an unfortunate situation and tough L to take.

I don’t think we were the highest offer today. OSU was very aggressive in the final minutes. A win Wednesday could pay dividends down the road in these situations. Land these type of kids and you’re in the playoffs every year.

I am sick with a bad cold and exhausted. I’ll take an L in this thread.

Not going to read the last several pages. Crootin ain’t for the weak kneed. Mario is always going to lose some. This was a loss especially given the public nature of the battle. He also flips some. I’ll pick my head up mid summer and worry about it all then.
