2026 Roster Discussion

Also, if we were paying him 75k and other schools are paying 1 million. He wouldn’t be at Miami currently. And no one would blame him. But he’s still here, so I think we are paying him at least double that 75k
Erik, is it true that either mom or dad works for the school, and he's basically on full ride?

So Ogden, Evans, Williams and Galvin all confirmed to return.

With portal losses and draft losses, the priority continues to be portal arms to round out this staff.

I want to see us take our chances with some high upside/ high risk arms with how potent our lineup projects to be.

Take the chances and show you can develop

See today's addition from Nebraska.
Develop him and find a role for him.
He doesn't have a lot of mileage on him...need to get three more decent arms.

How many more arms you thinking we need?

Coats certainly fits your 3rd sentence - 13 BB, 15 Ks and 5 WPs in 11 IP last year.

Bring him into games w the wind blowing out - the hitters won't be digging in on him:).

To answer all three above:

Yeah Coats was exactly what I was talking about, really nice RPMs while not having the track record ( Have been out of town so haven’t really been able to dive in). But former two-way guys (Hugus) typically improve year on year as they focus on pitching.

Could be wrong but Coats was hitting as recently as last season I believe. So first year often is a huge jump, hope that’s the case here.

If we can get Marks (isn’t final, but I personally lean gone), I’d like two more arms with how we kept some freshman from the draft. But I’d like three arms if not (Two high velo upside, and a consistent peice)

😔 😔 😔 😔 😔

Lazaro Collera started the game and only got 1 out before he was pulled
