2026 Roster Discussion

Where are the doubters? No NIL, can’t recruit.
You Are Dumb Mario Lopez GIF

I’m right here big guy. I’ve made my thoughts clear. I like this roster we’re putting together. Consider me and others still very skeptical about him long term, but for now I’ll sit back and bite my tongue because he’s on a roll.

If I were you I’d be careful about blowing your load too early though. He still has a lot to prove.

You said we have no NIL
you said he can’t recruit

He just proved we have both. Coaching that’s a different story.

I never said we had no NIL. I know nothing about that situation other than what others have indicated about him not being eager to use it. I’m sure he has plenty of funds at his disposal but he needs to be proactive in that area if we want to be a serious contender. Hopefully he is.

My comment about his recruiting is that he had a reputation as a lazy recruiter. Time will tell if he can 1) consistently build and sustain Omaha level rosters, 2) prove the last 2 years are an outlier, and 3) elevate the recruiting from the mediocrity of the last decade plus (of which he has some level of responsibility for).

With the addition of Sosa, the lineup looks set to be one of the best in the ACC (if we don't get hurt too bad by the draft). This is what I'm potentially seeing:

C: Sosa
1B: West
2B: Sheahan
SS: Ogden/Magana
3B: Cuvet
LF: Galvin
CF: Torres
RF: Williams
DH: Dubrovik/Copeland/Zaun

Still work to be done with the pitching staff, but this is what the talent level of a Miami baseball lineup should be

I have Milano as our top incoming freshman. Keeping him out of the lineup will be hard. If Plasentin comes to campus, he will end up taking one of the OF spots, in my opinion

Not much hope of Piasentin making it to campus, is there?
There hasn't been hope since last year. Someone on the staff told me last year he was likely going in the 2nd-3rd round. D$ Said on the baseball show yesterday, he has a high number to sign with MLB teams, just need to hope the draft plays out in our favor

Yes, the talented freshmen class is going to push the upperclassmen. It will be interesting in Fall ball to see how it plays out
