Would love for Ogden to stay if he does this lineup could be really nice. Guessing he is leaving though?

If he wants negotiation leverage with an MLB franchise he leaves this year. You lose that leverage when you’re out of eligibility. Idk how high he can go this year. 6-8th round at best, likely in the 10-20 range. Maybe play up to the 3rd or 4th next year.

Hes an interesting evaluation because he’s had similar numbers all 3 years but jumped a level each year D2-D1 mid major-D1 power conference. A similar progression while staying at the same level I would probably project .370-.380 with 10-12 HRs - which would solidify him moving up.

He didn’t hit great in the Cape last summer so curious to see if that holds weight over what he did at UM or even pulls him down a little even with what he did here.

I imagine he is gearing toward 2nd base but definitely a step down fielding wise. 15 errors this year. That’s more than Dorian and Ogden combined.

Haven't followed baseball close enough to know this, but has NIL affected the rate of mid round juniors declaring for the draft?

Maybe the thought of NIL and living a nice life in coral gables for one more year is nicer than going into the rigors of minor league baseball for a slightly larger signing bonus (compared to what hed make the following season) but also assuming he doesn't further improve his stock.

Well you don’t have to declare, you just get drafted and sign or don’t sign.

The MLB draft dipped from 40 rounds to 20 around the same time as NIL’s uptick and it’s shaken up strategies a bit, mainly more top tier HS recruits going to college. Not sure on the draft eligible college guys with college eligibility leftover.

Do we think new basketball pickup will play baseball here as well or focus on bball? Also, would Hugus come back if he’s not drafted that high or do we think that he’s gone?

Seems like Hugus dad would want him to come back with the way he talks so highly of the coaching staff

 
Those in the know - are we keeping all the assistants in tact for 2026? Would love a modern day pitching coach (Laz can stay on as our mentalist) to help these kids develop. If we develop arms to an elite level more top level arms would want to come here.

Yeah obviously I'm not gonna bash on anyone, but there are some objective takes on where players fit or have a path to ever playing.

More so path to playing, because it doesn't do anyone good to sugar coat anything
