2026 Roster Discussion

I get it Torres and Perlata are So FLA guys, but we HAVE to find kids for CF and RF that can hit .300 with double digit HR. Way too much slap ball with those two and Renzo. Renzo better not be at 1B next year - give me a banger

Renzo is out of eligibility and we brought in West from FIU for 1B.

If Torres can hit .250-.270 and get on base, and he’s shown signs of it down the stretch, that’s absolutely fine for that glove in CF.

One can wish for a Vance Honeycutt type can't he? Thanks for info on Renzo, that's good news, and yes, Torres has shown signs.

I agree Torres in center with his defensive capabilities batting 9th is fine. Having massive holes at DH, 1B and RF is not. Smith wasn’t a great hitter but he was very good defensively so he gets a pass.

TBH, we can upgrade 2nd base as well now that Dorian is out of eligibility. Dorian showed some heart but batting .265 or whatever with limited range ain't it

I'll be doing a podcast and an article this upcoming week with players I think are returning, guys who I can see us moving on from, and guys we might want in the portal.

The pieces are there ESPECIALLY if you return Ogden and Williams, not to mention a guy like Cleveland and a healthy Rob Evans next year.

I think all of the freshman who played this year will return bar maybe one.

What's important is now this portal cycle is a RETOOL, rather than a REBUILD, and many of the names I've heard follow that notion.

Agree. He had some great ABs in the post-season.

And he made that catch all year long in the regular season on King's duck snort, just surprised he didn't move in a couple of steps after two strikes.

Hopefully one or two of the names you have heard are top of the rotation type guys. Love Ciscar's intensity but he is a day two or three guy.

I just sat through an uninspiring performance.
The dugout had no intensity or sense of urgency.
Some of the young players have solidified their spots for next season and some have proven its time to move on. The whole roster needs to be overhauled, and I'm guessing that it will start on Tuesday.
Coaches brought these players. Coaches were uninspiring.. stop blaming the players, blame coaches, coach hires because of connections, players brought in because of their connections. Hire the best, people who understand technology and will make players better. Better preparation and scouting. Lazy do better.

I mean I think Ciscar can ultimately be that guy with a velo jump. If he has the same stuff with an extra 3 mph its a complete gamechanger

Good grief

The University of Miami….THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI…one of the 5 best programs in the history of the sport, came to bat with 1 out and the bases juiced in a winner take all super regional game and walked a first baseman to the plate who is 5’8 and 165 pounds, and is hitting .230 with 1 home run on the season and he’s batting 6th and your every day first baseman and people think the program is on the right track LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO

I hear ya but at least he made contact. Jason Torres would have struck out on 3 straight swing and misses.

Funny how Bama and UF were gloating about taking Torres and Blake Cyr from Miami last year and by the end of the season both fan bases hated them with a passion.

It's almost like our 6'6 starting first baseman was out for the year with a broken hamate, but I hear what you mean

This right here! Best baseball post I’ve read all day probably. Even if this is your backup 1st baseman, your program is in trouble. Renzo is a guy you can find on any high school team in the country honestly…
