Jeez you do not watch ballI’m going to be overly optimistic and hope we get smith and/or Mack because that rotation screams “hopefully we did enough to make the tournament”

I’m not giving up on DeRias over one bad start. He will be in the rotation. Evan’s will stay in the pen.Easton Marks has committed to Miami.
Marks, Ciscar & Evans rotation?![]()
I watch plenty. But come back to this late next year if that our rotation and tell me how we do. I’ll gladly eat crowJeez you do not watch ball
Honest don’t know.I think a guy like Evans if he comes back he does start.Or at least not at first. Senior LHP, he easily can sign a deal this summer according to many in the program.I’m not giving up on DeRias over one bad start. He will be in the rotation. Evan’s will stay in the pen.
Ya, can't see him turning down MLB to be in the pen his last year in college. And I suspect JD would prefer at least one LH starter.Honest don’t know.I think a guy like Evans if he comes back he does start.Or at least not at first. What exactly do you expect MLB teams are going to offer Evans as a late round selection?Ya, can't see him turning down MLB to be in the pen his last year in college. And I suspect JD would prefer at least one LH starter.
Maybe they convert DeRias to closer and tell Laz to work his mental magic on him.

No idea, probably not much though. But unless he can move himself into the early rounds next year, it'll be even less in 2026 I suspect. What exactly do you expect MLB teams are going to offer Evans as a late round selection?
As a role for him next year? Fall ball will offer him an opportunity to be a starter, middle relief, mid-week starter.
MLB teams see a left hander and salivate if he can throw a little hard. In which Evans does. Evans will definitely get calls this year to go pro. the only shot i see to him coming back to help the squad is in the starter role. What exactly do you expect MLB teams are going to offer Evans as a late round selection?

If i’ve watched baseball enough, 150-200k will be offered to him to sign in some late rounds. And my indication is, if you are not coming back to start at Miami. You sign that 200k deal.No idea, probably not much though. But unless he can move himself into the early rounds next year, it'll be even less in 2026 I suspect.
If he comes back, that should be an indication that he'll get a shot as a starter.
Indeed. And you can’t blame him. We even saw Brian Walters come back and say he wanted to start in which he was granted that until wheels fell off. Would assume if Evans doesn’t go, it’s the same thing.Nothing we have heard or seen in the last week or two says Evans wants to come back to be a pen guy
Friend of mine kid: Kentucky LHP Dominic Niman - low 90's guy - 18th round, signed by Rays for $50,000If i’ve watched baseball enough, 150-200k will be offered to him to sign in some late rounds. And my indication is, if you are not coming back to start at Miami. You sign that 200k deal.
Age matters. Evans is 21. That kid was 24. Evans also is a natural Junior. He has alot going in his favor with this draft. I’d love to see him on campus again but, I think he performs as he has in the draft league there’s many teams saying why not take him imoFriend of mine kid: Kentucky LHP Dominic Niman - low 90's guy - 18th round, signed by Rays for $50,000
I don't know the guy, but whoever is advising him has to be realistic with him about going pro. What $ number is he looking for from MLB? He would benefit from another year at the college level.MLB teams see a left hander and salivate if he can throw a little hard. In which Evans does. Eh. I think the only reason he even was in the bullpen last year was because of how bad we recruited LHP. And it’s kind of replicating itself now. If you’re advising him and this kid is 92-94 in the Draft League while striking guys out and having good outings, if a pro team calls you don’t tell them no. Nothing about him coming back is a guarantee. He gets hurt, and then he ends up never getting drafted. Hes in a draft now position, you don’t want to leave next year for chance as do many others. From what i’ve heard, the whole team/staff knew Evans’ stuff was draft like stuff. The Draft League is giving him leverage kind of showing that jd maybe did not give him the positions he should have.I don't know the guy, but whoever is advising him has to be realistic with him about going pro. To come back as a starter? These coveted roles are earned by improving this summer, showing out in the Fall and preseason practices/scrimmages. To expect a starting role next year is not realistic. Based on what?
And we don’t say “expect”. It’s “realistic”.When you come back for Senior year at any school and have the ability, usually it’s in your favor to be used as a starter.I don't know the guy, but whoever is advising him has to be realistic with him about going pro. Saw posted on Twitter about this kid. Would be a nice pickup as we really need a catcher.
