This isn’t like the ACC GOR where losing your tv rights is everything because that’s what another conference would want.
These players have no real NIL value. NIL is just what the schools are calling pay for play so the players aren’t employees.
So Duke getting your NIL value generated is not going to matter to any school.
And Duke seems to know that, hence the provision where no other school can pay you for your NIL rights. That’s a back door way of trying to create an employee non-compete clause.
Don’t know why that would be enforceable? What does Duke care if another school pays you for something, as long as Duke gets the rights to it?
