Fans are annoyed that this process is taking this long again, idk why people are mad at those fans. Any fan base would be stressing out in the 11th hour. It’s even MORE puzzling when the team has momentum and playing in the natty.

It's just embarrassing at this point, something has got to be going on that we don't know about because none of this makes sense. We're in the national championship and our 2024 portal QB went 1st overall and was a Heisman finalist. We shouldn't need to be begging QBs to take our huge sum of cash to come here.

This is what happens when you are 100% dependent on a QBs from portal while beating your chest about not investing financially in upper echelonhigh school quarterbacks

With this way, doing business, you can never strike out. You simply cannot miss on a QB from the portal.

It’s more of a problem of putting your eggs in one basket. Sorsby seemed to be their number 1, and it was obvious from the start he was going to TT. If your first pitch doesn’t seem to get much of a bite, Mario needs to learn to just move on. Instead, he kept on pursuing even through there was almost no chance of landing him. Because of that, we missed out on some good prospects

We're coming up on a month since this thread was created. We've not landed any of our targets, but not for lack of throwing money at them (i.e. - $6.5M offer to Simpson). There was always coming a point with the Portal where we wouldn't get one of the big fish, and would have to rely on what's coming in from HS along with who's already inside the program.

I think our 2 options are:

1) Ride with Coleman/Nickel/Judd/Emory, see if one of them can win the job and be a dude. Just because they've not done it here *yet* doesn't mean they won't keep developing and become capable. Developing QBs is part of the staff's job, and we recruited all of those guys for a reason. If another guy comes in the portal, like Longstreet, toss them into the fray and let them compete too. Don't promise the spot to any of them.

2) Wait until after Spring and see if a QB from elsewhere wants to unenroll from where they are and suddenly enroll at UM.

Neither of those options are as great as Option A1 (getting a massive Cam/Beck style fish as a sure fire QB) - for sure. But those seem like the options in front of us right now.

Respectfully, I created this thread in Dec 2024. More like 1 year and a month.

I already created one for 2027.
