I can only go by what I see. He's produced in our conference, he's 19, he has physical tools, and he he fits. To me, it seems to be an obvious fit just like Mendoza was last year.

IMO Mendoza was a better passer than Bailey. And he is FAR thicker than Bailey. He carries weight much better. Even if Bailey is faster or whatever that is irrelevant. Do I think Bailey has some great arm? No. It seems fine. Is he extremely accurate? Again I don’t think he’s at all more accurate than Mendoza has been this yr. But again he’s fine. And most importantly does he understand defenses as well as Mendoza? I very highly doubt it. I fully believe OFF the field and character wise he’s probably best fit available. I said this like months ago but the best STATISTICAL metric for Bailey is his play on throws >2.5S. Pretty sure he was highest graded ACC passer on those throws. When you combine THAT with this offense and OLine gameplan on throws <2.5s where this offense/roster would elevate his game and you COULD be cooking a big improvement in his play.. I pointed this out months ago though

To me he has always been like a B- to B pickup. Certainly wouldn’t complain All that much, especially now. But we absolutely were CORRECT going for an A- or better add.

if we got any of Chambliss, Fifita, or Bailey, I’d be pretty happy with the result. Hopefully we wouldn’t have to overpay tooo much, but if we ended with one of those 3, alls well that ends well

Houston is already paying him gigantic money. And they would find the match money, as he is a hometown kid they view as program changing. Great player but I think it would probably be wasted
effort.

Can’t argue with this

I’m indifferent on Bailey (and most of these QBs)

I think we will win a lot of games with pretty much any of the names mentioned here including CJ

I remember feeling the same way you did last year and this year, I’m just astonished at such huge emotional opinions about these guys
