2026 Portal QBs

I still think potentially the worst part of this QB portal period for us is that staff never added a QB2 type. Braden Atkinson literally visited ND cause he was open to being a backup. There were a bunch of productive guys at lower levels that could be a backup or 3rd string and compete next yr… that at minimum are more proven than Emory and we likely lose Emory regardless anyways…

That part of this has been 100% misplayed

Well, if the guy is such a can’t-miss prospect with NFL upside, you would think every school in need of a QB would’ve inquired, especially in a year where the portal quality sucks. And you being an insider, I would presume you would’ve caught wind of that.
 
I take solace in that this years QB search does not take away from our coaches preparations to the most important game for this program in 23 years.

It doesn’t seem like they even look at high profile hs qb’s. I haven’t hear about this staff going after one

You obviously were correct about Mendoza & he was acquired by one of the best organizations for identifying talent. I think the correlation you’re missing is, IU didn’t try for Bailey in the portal. ****, did anyone?

When he was deliberating, NC State's site reported he had a bunch of big money offers. They're biased, so who knows. There is no real evidence in this world.

I can only go by what I see. He's produced in our conference, he's 19, he has physical tools, and he has great character. To me, it is an obvious fit just like Mendoza was last year.

Go get Weigman. Houston can't match us with the amount they must be paying Henderson.

Has a lot of tools and has the experience we need.

Just curious. I didn’t want Mendoza, so what do I know? I just find it weird that Bailey appears to not have garnered much interest from the big money programs.

dude... don't you think YOU could convince yourself to get over those feelings for just $1million dollars?????? ONE MILLION bro.... and I'm being cheap.... I'm sure our offer is more than 1million more than what he's making now.... times 2year deal..... like others have said... we're not talking $50k..... $1million extra in your bank account still sets you up nicely for many years, if not life...
