2026 Portal QBs

We are going to get a really good QB. If you don't think Agents and Player Reps haven't been inquiring you have no idea. This stuff is madness. This is gonna happen - it just requires a little patience and the name of the QB will prob be someone you haven't even thought about but has tremendous talent and will continue our winning ways. Most QBs worth a **** see Miami and the OL, the talent on the edges at WR and running game and are like HOLY S***. This is a ready made program for someone and folks see it. We will get someone who would have been a 4th thru 7th pick with the ability to turn it into a 1st or 2nd round pick when done just like Ward and Beck.

it would be wild for Bailey to return to NC State tbh. Losing your top 2 receivers, star RB, and LT to the portal, and you decide to return for your first year as draft eligible? And some insinuating you got a good chance to go 1st round next year?

I get you're friends with Chance Robinson, but no friend is that important

We're they in it this year?

Lmao! I love this place.

I missed the first subtle troll and got baited into Googling that scrub and then responding.

Cheers Applause GIF

Probably Not if everything works out as well as we’d all hope.

If we did get him though the realistic REASON he’d be here 2 yrs is we’d be willing to pay him to return, have Toney returning, and would be going all in for another National Championship run.

This upcoming yr may be more of a youth transition, even if we do still hope to make a cfp run.
I mean, he could play great for a year and then pull a Moore and try to avoid the Jets.

The last two times Mario’s done this he’s gotten a generational QB and one that led him to the national championship. And people think he’s gonna change his approach lol
The assumption that the process is reckless lacks any supporting evidence. People just assume that if we miss on a known potential target we are screwed and stuck with Emory.

Mario shoots his shot, which is what he should do (and he has landed his guy 2 years in a row), but he's not reckless and he presumably has multiple contingency plans that most of us do not know about. Just guessing here, but it appears they never got traction with Sorsby and were not enamored enough with Leavitt/his personality/the uncertainty of his injury to enter into a bidding war for him.

You can only avoid overpaying for someone in that situation when you have leverage in the form of other options that are also pretty good. The idea that we are going at this with Emory as the fallback plan seems absurd to me.

Yes, but they also didn’t make the natty and are literally going all in next yr with all the guys they are paying to return. Thats my point.

It’s very unlikely if EVERYTHING goes to the best of our expectations that he’d return. QBs projected in 1st don’t often return. Especially if it was like Bailey who has zero 1st round hype entering next yr…

No better illustration of progress than graduating from paying the “suck tax” for decent high school prospects to negotiating a “circle back tax” on plug-n-play transfers.

We're about to win a Natty in a year we beat the brakes off FSU, UiF, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Ohio State, the undefeated B1G Champion and 2 SEC teams.

The only thing that got taxed was that ***, all **** year.

Sounded like you want mario to fail so that hes humbled in his arrogance? Ill revoke my reaction if I understood that wrong, which i hope I did.
Of course I don’t want Mario to fail.

I would hope he realizes that the approach needs some tweaks and I wish, especially this year, with a Natty game to plan for, that this would be the one year where they handle this earlier.

You can be humbled without failing.

Ok i will. And for the record, even if we land no qb (which we will), I still disagree with the approach and logic the qb transfer mopers are using.
Not defending or saying right or wrong but after 4+ years we should also know by now Mario doesn’t take commitments until it’s 100%

QB portal recruiting is a **** show at the moment. Feels like our fans need the safety blanket of a commitment but then they would just shift their nonsense to being worried about retaining that commitment when stuff gets wild

We aren’t some infallible operation, but we’ve got an extraordinarily low decommit rate since Mario has been here for a reason

It can be an agonizing methodical process, but so far so good
