Looking at this as optimistically as possible , were the portal QB dominos waiting on Miami? Raoila was in Miami after the season (secret visit?), Leavitt doesn’t sign until getting the opportunity to visit Miami and now both have made their decisions at the same time? Miami told them no because they got the answer they wanted? (Simpson?) this is 100% looking at it through Canes colored glasses.

We haven't even tried to compete with any crazy offers at any position except QB. Do I think we are going to pay a buyout with someone resigned or offer Simpson the money it would take to skip the draft, I don't. I hope I am wrong.

Unfortunately, no.

Miami zeroed in on Sorsby and Leavitt. Sorsby never gave us the time of day. Leavitt visited, but there were multiple other teams on him

It’s malpractice that we never lined up a backup plan.

Devon Dampier allegedly hasn't. I just read a thread on their board where numerous posters noted rumors that Miami made a hefty offer to him a few days ago contingent on not landing Leavitt.
