Teams in need

Miami: The Hurricanes are likely to dip into the portal for a third straight offseason in pursuit of a quarterback with Carson Beck's impending graduation. Though, there is some internal optimism about the development of Emory Williams.

That last sentence.. **** that.
Heard that last year too

I’ve heard Jaden Craig would be drafted if he entered this year. I’ve yet to watch his film aside from highlights on Twitter. Initial thought is he isn’t QB1 and can do better than coming here to be QB2. But intriguing for sure.
I've seen him play twice in person and I was impressed. Really accurate the games I watched

Texas tech writers are talking exactly like you’d expect a school with the oil money to talk
Hey I don’t blame em

Not sure if this has been posted yet but he wouldn’t be a bad QB to bring in for depth. He works with Baylin Trujillo, who is a big canes fan. We may very well lose two qbs from roster, so we might need another body

He’s a better version of Poff so 100% would bring in, especially if someone like Judd or Emory portals

D$ mentioned this on the Sunday pod but I’m resigned to the belief that Bailey may make the most sense and is the cleanest and most logical fit.

At a baseline, you’re making a lateral move from Beck (11th in QBR to 13th) and the biggest question I have is whether the two outlier performances (@ND and @Miami) were an indictment of the talent around him as opposed to solely on him. @Lance Roffers is a HUGE Bailey guy so I’ll differ to him on that.

As it stands, Sorsby is likely headed to Texas Tech and Leavitt’s Lisfranc injury gives me pause as far as throwing big NIL at him. I don’t think Lagway or Raiola are better options than Bailey.

He also raises the chances of enticing JSmith to transfer from 0% to about 5%

Plus if we get Bailey, Jeremiah Smith is a cane lock

Serious note: I like the idea of having a guy with multiple years of eligibility.

Lagway is interesting. However he has been pretty bad TBH hitting intermediate routes consistently. He's similar to Leavitt who becomes erratic on intermediate throws. Lagway is waaaay better than Leavitt on deep routes tho. That's the upside to Lagway and mixed with our run game, he can make D's pay with his deep ball.

Not a great fit. Our Air Raid passing game is mostly intermediate concepts. Bailey is way more accurate on intermediate throws than Lagway. This remains why he's my favorite. Give me intermediate accuracy over all else.

Bailey, Sorsby, or Mestemaker are the best fits for what we need.
Need accuracy, accuracy, accuracy.

I agree completely. If I had to bet on one of these: (1) Bailey will be as good or better than Beck or (2) Bailey will be worse than Beck, I'd take (1). I think people are underrating him.
