2026 Portal QBs

I like nickel. Even if he was somewhat ready, one of the biggest benefits of a known QB is the secondary effect of retaining and attracting further talent.

Someone like lane is sending lowlight clips of emory to our players dms right now
Yup, watch other programs to be aggressive with our players after today when it will become clear that we won’t get a QB.

From tomorrow until the 21 we will have to play defense a lot imho.

There is NO way you just watched that and are alluding that he is athletic by college standards. Statue does not mean you run a 5.2 40. It means you are not going to be able to utilize your legs against P4 defenders who are, by and large, the most athletic players in the country. There is nothing fluid about him running the football. There are kids who run for 600+ yards and 10 TD in HS that struggle to use their legs in college because of how big of an adjustment it is. Him taking off for 20 yards and then running for 10 and sliding against a HS defense does nothing to show me he can use his legs at the college level. I would love to be wrong, but also I hope it never even comes to that.
To say Carson Beck isn’t a statue and that Judd Anderson is…I got beach front property in Iowa for sale.

He’s an athlete who played in a wing T offense up until his senior year of high school.

Miss me with this take. Indiana has a chance to win a National Championship for the FIRST TIME EVER and they wasted no time being aggressive in the portal locking up their qb for next season so that they can position themselves to be in this spot again next year. ****, they recruited over the brother of their Heisman winning starting qb in the middle of the playoffs.
Being in the National Championship just makes this even more mind-numbing.

National Championship caliber program
Outstanding OL play
Outstanding running game
One of the best wide receivers in football
Elite financial compensation

All this **** to sell and this is the process and response at the most important position on the field? Just riding with what is in house? Complete ******* bull****.

Close your legs bro its stinking up the place

Indiana also has to replace their whole team, its not the same situation at all. People can be mad about the way we handled the QB situation but we value and PAY for HS talent that we trust. I could care less about what they decide to do because thats not how we operate. We were never going to go out and sign 20+ transfers this cycle. Everyone acting like we're going to magically suck next year are delusional.
I think you and others are forgetting what it’s like to have an average or below‑average QB running the offense. That alone costs you 3–5 games. There’s going to be a rude awakening next year for the folks with short-term memories.

Emory is probably no better than TVD, Malik Rosier, etc. We went 10–2 the last two years despite having Cam Ward and Carson Beck. Without a real QB, I’m expecting 7–5 or 8–4.

Indiana has no choice but to be aggressive in the portal to stay relevant. They don’t recruit HS well. Miamis problem is literally just QB, we’ll have another supremely talented roster again next year

OL, LB, TE, and QB have been rough. I think we can figure out the first three and be fine with our HS talent.

But that last one is the difference between 8 wins and a NC game berth. Especially if the failure leads to kids portalling with them having 5 extra days

We also have no choice but to be aggressive in the portal at QB because we don't pay top dollar for talented HS QBs. They landed one. We didn't.

This is all that matters.

The coaches purposely recruit HS QBs under the idea that they are going to be aggressive in the portal and rely on it for their QB each year.

To miss on a QB is a complete failure. There’s no other way to put it. Because the coaches themselves set the terms.

You think Indiana would let another Mendoza stud go?
Not that I think we will pursue, but what is Indiana gonna do? Lock him in a basement and not let him leave?

They brought in their qb for next year. If Mendoza wanted to leave to cone home, Indiana cant do **** to stop him.

**** Indiana.

So someone just has to be IN the portal by today right? And it may not even show up for 2 days? Is that correct?
There’s almost non zero chance that it wouldn’t leak before then. They’d have to enter by EOD today or do the unenroll route. But we’d know before they officially hit the portal.

That supremely talented roster doesn’t mean jack **** if you don’t have at least a somewhat competent qb to run the offense.
