Im not sure why people are hating on the portal approach.

Outside of a few teams, every team that’s a legitimate contender next year will have a transfer QB.

The issue was we absolutely whiffed. I’m going to chalk that up to internal dysfunction that drastically underestimated the situation with the new transfer window + managing playoff success.

The approach wasn’t the issue. It was the process, implementation, and ultimately the outcome that was the issue.

I actually think the opposite. I don’t think we were that interested and had our hand forced. We would have ultimately paid him to be our QB if he wanted to. But it would have been buyers remorse for sure.

Simply put, they didn’t expect anyone to tell them no and it happened.

Nah bro…it’s the approach. You don’t sit and wait around for the most important position on a football team…you have to be aggressive in zeroing in on targets and have backup plans early in the portal. We were playing Russian Roulette for 2 year before this one
