Well when we try to do the budget no name QB thing we end up with guys like Poffenberger, Judd and Emory. Lane identified those guys at Ole Miss. We don’t have that qb guru here who identifies good raw QBs so we take proven p4 players at qb in the portal.
Miami is already developing guys...it would be wise to take a vet with production....I do believe this portal class is a step below the last two classes imo...Beck and Cam were worth the price don't see any worth it this year...I know we hit twice but this may be the year to grab a cheaper decent QB with experience.... let him battle our guys we already have developing....spend that bag on 3-4 high caliber players at other positions...and still have enough to upgrade losses...

As well as we’ve recently done identifying talent and maximizing it overall, we hit on Beck and Cam, known quantities, but look at the rest of it at qb. We really should be in the portal for a known-quantity starter at qb each year until we get lucky with one of these high school recruits. And really, there’s no going back. QBs cost money, especially known good ones and we have yet to show we can identify unknown good ones who might be a one year bargain.

Listen, dude, I’ve been waiting 23 years for this! 23 years ago as a young man, I thought we were gonna win it every year. But as I’ve gotten older, it’s pretty clear these chances are few and far between. So if we win the national championship this year, honestly, I could give a **** about what happens next year.
