2026 NFL Draft Thread

I like the Dolphins draft so far outside of Douglas.

1. I don't hate the Proctor pick after mulling over it; just am not a fan of passing on the best defensive player and the best DL in the draft, Downs and Bain. Like his size, ⏸️, but Ioane would have been my pick.
1a. Chris Johnson was my CB2 and I believe he could be Quinyon-lite.
2. Rodriguez is bigger and more athletic Zach Thomas. Him and Brooks will be a top 5 unit.
3a. Trying very hard to understand the Caleb Douglas pick. He's a tall burner like previous GB receivers (Watson and Valdes-Scantling), but his tape is worse than their's. Huge reach imo.
3b. Kacmarek is the best blocking TE in the draft by far. They plan to run the ball a lot this year and there are zero good blockers on the team. Houston took a similar player in Marlin Klein a round earlier btw.
3c. Love Chris Bell. Second best pick on Day 2 and a guy I constantly mocked at 42. Sneaky fast WR with a knack for making plays after the catch. He also finds ways to get open better than most in the class. That ACL tear kept him out of the 1st.

If giving up 2 sacks is protecting him that falls in line with ESPiN stupidity
Here is AI's synopsis lol

Rueben Bain Jr. dominated Texas A&M offensive tackle Trey Zuhn III (No. 60) during the first round of the 2025 College Football Playoff on December 20, 2025, recording three sacks and four tackles for loss.
Zuhn had previously sparked motivation for Bain by publicly stating he didn't believe the Miami edge rusher would be a "threat we need to worry about too much". Bain highlighted his performance by specifically calling out the Texas A&M offensive line, including Zuhn, after the 10-3 win.

Key details of the matchup:
  • The Matchup: Bain repeatedly beat Texas A&M offensive tackle Trey Zuhn III.

Who did you guys want them to draft?
I don’t follow them anymore so I’ll take your word for it that the blocking TE is good for them. I see who they picked before this and there were better players in my opinion at the same positions. I think the CB Johnson who they got will be fine. Not excited about Proctor at 12 or Caleb Douglas. I like Rodriguez but people who know more than me think he’s hit his peak in college and won’t be the player in the pros that he was at TTU. Gave me the Clemson Boulware vibe where he was a great college player but not so much after that.

Bright side is that fins have pretty much guaranteed a top 3 pick next year. But judging from this draft, this new regime is toast, no matter what. Let’s see how badly they’ll ***** it up next year.

Happy for all the Canes getting drafted into decently well run orgs. Fins would have ruined their careers.
They’ll **** that up. Stop following the fins and just go all Canes like me. I’m so much happier. Lol

Unless you're drafting horribly according to the consensus board, you're doing fine.

The Jaguars and Dolphins are not doing well according to the board.
Jaguars are having an uneventful draft.

Nate Boerkircher pick is getting dragged by the Jag fans...not a great pick for value, but can see Liam Coen being obsessed with a blocking TE2 all offseason. Been saying weird **** to the media about improving run blocking. The Jaguars were like 20th in the league in rushing. 27th per attempt. Lost Travis Etienne in free agency. Got more of a power back in Chris Rodriguez in free agency. He was always frustrated with the lack of numbers and skillset at TE. Brenton Strange is good but was injured. Had Chuma Edoga out there on run situations and it was driving him nuts. Edoga penalty a key factor that lost them the playoff game. These ADHD coaches have a type they obsess over and sometimes they hyperfocus on the edges, especially when that ends your season.

To be fair, that is what good team do. Fix the minutiae. Jaguars want to run more 12 and 13 personnel, too. Its the du jour in the league. Rams used it 30% of the time last year, 40% down the stretch and the Jags just didnt have the personnel. This front office is from the Rams tree.

Value...ymmv. The tight ends at this tier were off the board in this range, he was one of them in this group. Seems like market value in this draft. Usually there are 7-10 TEs taken on Day 1/2. 9 were taken tonight.

Pick is very smartest guy in the roomish. Didnt help the draft grade by drafting more niche players when I assume Gladstone took the wheel. Pregnon was another run blocker.

Regis was very active versus Miami and Notre Dame against the run. Gladstone comes from the Rams organization and they just kind of like quirky hustle run defenders - Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, Bobby Brown of recent vintage over there. Jags lost because they couldnt stop the run against the Bills.
