When Torres left for Alabama I thought it was going to be a big loss but he’s hitting a whopping .238 and I’m surprised he’s still a starter. Must be playing some great defense.
 
So, the ways things look tonight, the SEC will probably have 5/8 of the teams in Omaha (again?). As if they weren't dominant enough, adding Texas and OU simply ensures they'll continue to own the CWS.

Watching an SEC game is clear and obvious why they go every year. Their programs aren't just better, in most cases, they're on another planet.

Missouri State went to Ole Miss in February and were competitive, but got swept. I called them a CWS team at that time. Their pitching was like watching a AA staff. And they weren't even a host team in that gauntlet of a conference.

It might only get worse under NIL with how much they spend on it. Every top transfer seems to end up in that conference these days- especially arms.

I think you'll enjoy this article on him. Coach told him he had to keep his GPA up even though he was going to live with the baseball players because the team needed his GPA. Ha

Small correction in that he was from a tiny town in Pennsylvania.

He didn't start game one because coach thought he'd be too nervous. Hit .335 going into Regionals and mostly started at DH. Seems like a good dude.

Don't forget we had another walk-on(?) catcher from Pennsylvania in Mike Piazza.
One worked out well for Ron Fraser and the other not so much...lol
