2026 Men's Basketball Recruiting

I think the FSU situation is misleading.
The problem with this NIL era is that the media makes a big deal out of the $10M-$20M roster.
Truthfully, kids just want to get paid so it's not like kids aren't playing for $100K to $500k.
Every kid ain't getting $1M+.
I apologize for the poor English but you get the point.
FSU is bargain shopping and they are doing a good job to fill their needs with the resources they have.
I am not saying it's "Moneyball" but they are making the most out of the money they have.
So high school recruiting is that cheap compared to portal?

I am saying that playing for $100K is better than playing for just the scholarship alone.
Every kid in the portal isn't getting $1M either.
Just being honest, there is nothing to be ashamed about making $100k to $500K at any age, must less 18-23YO.

I remember us having some excitement for 2 potential late signing propects. Has that ship sailed or we’re still in it

Why are we obsessing over a kid that has given no signal that he'e choosing us?
Travis Barnham is a respectable national recruiting commentator who went to UK. He was on the money about Arkansas leading for Jordan Smith. He also pointed out Miami being a factor in McCoy’s recruitment last fall. Branham said if Jordan Smith were to end up at Arkansas he would “look very closely at,” Miami to land McCoy.

Eric Bossi added

Jai Lucas did make an in-season trip by himself to see McCoy play in Arizona; you don’t see guys (HCs) making those kinda trips if they don’t feel like they have a really good shot with somebody.

Timestamp 39 minutes in.

Kid is likely going to a place he OVed. Branham lists the main three schools as Miami, Arkansas, and Michigan; his fourth OV was to Alabama who is pursuing Caleb Holt, and has three top 50 wing commits already; two of which aren’t good three point shooters similarly to McCoy.

He also OVed to Duke but they are said to have stopped prioritizing him a while back with no indication they are interested again post Jordan Smith commitment.

Goosby officially visited Duke in late August after moving up his visit from when it was originally scheduled. The elite combo guard became one of the Blue Devils' top targets in the class of 2026, as the program somewhat veered off from 5-star recruit Brandon McCoy Jr. in favor of Goosby. However, that didn't end up being worth it in the end.

Arkansas has three top thirty perimeter recruits already and likely have Knox, Richmond, Wagner, and Sealy all returning as perimeter players.

His OV to Michigan was scheduled after the reported deprioritzation by Duke. Michigan has three perimeter commits, the highest ranked of which was a recent reclassification & commit after the video above was uploaded. In the video from two months ago, Branham says Michigan is fading in this recruitment.

Michigan, Duke, UNC, UK, NC State, Indiana, and Arkansas are all pursuing Euro five star big man Miikka Muurinen. He has OVed to Arkansas, Michigan and Utah already. May return for more visits now that he left the Serbian team he was playing for.

Heard a 5 star PG from last year may be coming home. If he does, I'd be shocked if McCoy was in this class.
Yea I think he wanted to play with his brother this year but can see him sliding back home and being our starting PG next year.

It's been in talks for the past week. His fam, especially mom is very close with Calebs fam. With Cam going to the NBA, and no comp here and tons at Duke, he's our PG for the next few years

Multi year starter at PG? Yes please!

That sounds nice but I would honestly take a pass on Cayden Boozer.
Nice kid and I don't mean this with any I'll will toward him or his family.
If I am being honest, I don't think he would start over Tru Washington nor is he a better shooter than Allen or Norvat.
It doesn't matter if it is Duke or Miami, he is still coming off the bench.
That is a horrible look for him to transfer to Miami after what is realistically a disappointing and unsuccessful season in Durham.
Don't get me wrong, if Coach Jai wants Cayden Boozer over Brandon McCoy then I am going to cheer for him just like all the other players on the team.
If we are being honest, Cayden was never a 5 ⭐ player but he is a good player who will be a solid college player for the next 3 years.
Let's make sure we understand one thing though, Cayden isn't guaranteed to be the starting PG at Miami for the next 3 years.
