Too early to tell for me, but being he's from the west coast I'd assume one of the schools out there would have the advantage. Half the battle in the recruiting world of college basketball is relationships. The rest is money, and program or head coach's track record of putting guys in the league. IF we have an in with Branch then I'd say we have a chance. I think it'll boil down to that. Who, if anyone on our staff does Branch trust and have any kind of relationship with? A kid like Branch ain't coming here otherwise, unless we make him an NIL offer he can't refuse. Kind of like how BYU did with Dybansta.

Do we have the resources to play at that level? Are UMs dollars all in one account or are they separated out by individual sports?

  • Base amount: The deal includes a $5 million base from BYU's collective. (More than we pay Beck iirc)

  • Additional income: Dybantsa will also make money from separate deals with brands like Nike and Red Bull.
  • Payment source: The NIL payments are being provided by BYU's boosters, not the university or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints directly.

Branch being signed to Klutch at least gives up a direct tie-in because Jai is cool with LeBron & Rich Paul, Maverick Carter, etc. Bron did send Bryce to Arizona, and not USC who actually upgraded their coaching staff by getting Musselman.

Hopefully we can be the one.
