2026 DL Logan Nagle commits to Miami

This kid is the goods. One of the biggest risers in America this year. Was an unranked 0 star recruit just last year. I expect him to finish in the top 300 ranks
I thought Sainteus was going to be this years Kellen Wiley 0 star to major recruit, turns out it was this kid. Welcome aboard!

Does remind of Walters but is bigger I believe. BMac, Jamaal Green, and James Lewis were also from NJ. We recruited NJ hard and well from Jimmy to Coker. As the team fell off, all OOS recruiting became very hard. Mario has lots of faults, but recruiting is not one of them.

Golden lived by recruiting Jersey here. Just didnt land difference makers from there. Olsen, Gordinier, Kiy Hester, etc never did much sadly. Only Njoku had an impact.

The two true DL we got this week are ranked below 500. Here are our DL signees going back to 2018 that were ranked below 500:

Patrick Joyner
Jordan Miller
Jared Harrison-Hunte
Jalar Holley
Quentin Williams
Allan Haye
Ahmad Moten
Joshua Horton
Daylen Russell
Donta Simpson
Mykah Newton

My point is the odds of them being difference makers are slim. This board loves to convince themselves that every commit is a beast, regardless of ranking.

Every commit gets a Glen Davis designation. Lmao

Off topic question why didn’t the coaches push more on Kinsler brother who is rated the top DL in NJ and fits the profile coach is looking for🧐

The difference is when we were signing Holley/Haye etc we weren’t also pairing them with 5star types or elite portal additions. And NIL wasn’t a thing where DT is possibly one of most expensive positions. And there wasn’t 105 scholarships.

If we get 1 top 10 DT commit per year and like 3-4 low 4star to 3star type players per year with good size and athleticism, all you need is 2 to hit. If in 2 yrs guys aren’t developing at good pace they will portal out. But look at Russell right now, he’s contributed more than Jones lol. Who knows what either will do next year. But I guarantee Simpson is in the plans to play a big role.

This year is a little disappointing for the high end DT recruiting, but I actually like the depth we are bringing in with these guys you are dismissing. Stancil is good, but I wanted a true High4star/5star DT this class.

But we definitely need to land a 5star Edge. If we do that it’s definitely a quality Edge haul

You have a point. Wat do u mean by difference maker, like start and perform pretty good? Bc JHH, Moten, and Miller def contributed and weren’t bad when they were here. I’m just speaking from my perspective, but I remember Holley’s, Haye’s, and Joyner’s tape, I knew they were not going to contribute. I did think Horton and Williams would and Simpson, Russell, and Newton are still too early to judge, even though I think the ceiling for Russell is a depth piece.

Patrick Joyner
Jordan Miller - NFL
Jared Harrison-Hunte - NFL
Jalar Holley
Quentin Williams
Allan Haye
Ahmad Moten - Arguably our best DT
Joshua Horton - Rotational DT at UGA
Daylen Russell - Has played snaps as a RS freshman, probably won’t be a player.
Donta Simpson - Getting snaps as a true freshman
Mykah Newton - Freshman

There are like 4 true misses in terms of can’t play P4 football on your list.

Jordan Miller was servicable and could be in a 3-4 man rotation of good DT play
Harrison-Hunte was a nice #2 DT
Moten iis one of the 8-10 best DT in the country next year
And big things are expected from Simpson but consensus is he's a hit

Too early on Newton.

That's definitely better than "slim"

Always wondered this, I think he just let us staff know he was SEC bound early?

Another Jersey gem from the 83 recruit class…
