Gotcha. I’ve only seen clips but the jumper looked fairly smooth for a 4 from what I remember, and iirc he’s a good shooter from the stripe so I just assumed he’d wind up being a stretch 4A lot like Reneau. Good player around the rim with some decent handles in the post. Low % mid-range and 3P shooter. More like Indiana version of him... Malik hit almost 35% here and made more, attempted more, and hit at a higher % than 3 years combined previously (20/77 - 26% combined at Indiana and 26/75 - 35% here).
Totally aligned on the PG front. We need someone that can replace Tre's playmaking abilities and ideally eclipse the 36% he shot from 3 this year, and this is why I don't necessarily see Cayden Boozer as the right fit with this group. If Gaskins cant shoot, then that can make things tricky finding a physical big to pair with him and Shelton.
Gonna need Shelton and Dante to really develop that 3 point shot.
And that means the PG we get, its a non negotiable that he should be shooting around 38% or more.
Agree on Boozer. Seems limited athletically, and shot 30% from three. I dont want to kick a player when hes down, but is he just a beneficiary of his brother?Totally aligned on the PG front. Gaskins can shoot but I don't think it's something we'll see him do a lot of initially. His game truly reminds me of a younger Bam Adebayo given his length, physicality and athleticism, but he'll need to be paired with a big that can step out and keep defenses honest from deep.
