Honestly, I am enjoying the season and I am not focused on next season at all. I only posted this because Jamier Jones is a Florida kid who had a good season at Providence. With Kim English being fired, he could enter the portal and look to play at another school for 2026-27.
He is similar to Sheldon Henderson in build but like Sheldon, they both need to work on improving their jump shot.
In the Jai Lucas system build on length, defense, rebounding and fast break points, he does fit the mold of the type of player for his system.

Abdi Bashir should get some consideration as he is 6'6, long, athletic and he has the ability to knock down shots from deep.
Making ten 3s per game would take Miami to another level.

Is it a crime to recruit players who are pure shooters? Be nice to recruit at least one who fits that bill. At least one .... two would be even better.

Shon Abreav will be an interesting name to watch with this team. From Israel but play high school basketball in Florida.

Short answer is no but he did address a lot of other needs that are required to win.
Jai Lucas did establish a culture and direction in his first year at Miami.
Going forward, everyone knows we are a physical, long, athletic, defense and rebounding first team.
That as we now know is worth atleast 18 wins.
Yes, we all know and realize the shooting could have been better but that is probably the only box that didn't get checked in his first season of being a HC.
All things considered, it's pretty good given how most coaches have more misses with the transfer portal than hits.
I fully expect shooting to be addressed as guys like Henderson, Washington, Allen, Norvat and Malovec should take a step forward in improving their jump shot.
I do think after another C to replace Udeh, shooting is the biggest priority but the player must also be long, athletic and physical as this is a defensive, rebounding fast break team.

Udeh has been great. Knows his role and does it well. He'll be the hardest to replace I'd guess. As you say, priority #1.

Tre has arguably been our MVP, providing leadership, running the point, and scoring.

Reneau has been unbelievably consistent all season long. Far surpassed what I expected out of him offensively (after seeing him a lot at IU).
