Having followed him at Liberty.... he is a leader among men... he carries that team on his shoulders much like Cam. He throws a beautiful long ball and runs just as good.
However not sure of his fit in the Miami culture.

He played well against us but I still don’t see a guy that consistently make throw after throw.
Mateer is going to get paid. It's a generally weak class because of all the super seniors playing right now. Just not a ton of great options.

Sam Leavitt. If he transfers again this year, it will be his 3rd school in 3 years.

can't blame him for transferring from MSU, his coach had "issues"

Why go after a guy whos 5th string at OSU and turned down Miami when there are guys who've got starting experience that would be able to play immediately?

Obviously Lagway was a miss, but everyone wanted him back then, however, most of this list turned out pretty good for this to be posted September 2024. I gotta know, was this the first time Mensah was mentioned on this board?A few lower level underclassmen I’ve noticed early. Primarily trying to look at guys with 2+ years left. I’m not so sure about Mateer, but WSU has been good to us, so he’s one atleast worth monitoring. Obviously, at this point I think the consensus is Target #1 should be Lagway, if he hits the portal ofcourse.

And to think we were "overpaying" for Ward at the $2M mark. This past year's top portal QBs were in the $6m mark (Mensah, Leavitt), IIRC. This year? Man, I guess $7-8m for the top guys? Crazy
Yup I remember talking **** like Cam was worth $10 mil because of the value he provided to program.. We got a BARGAIN looking back and people thought we overpaid.
