Tears 2025 NFL Cuts of UM players (What a Bloodbath!)

Zion and John Campbell gave up 45 sacks that game. Yea he wasn’t anything special here.
You're being too nice saying he wasn't "anything special" while here at Miami. I have other terms and words to describe his time here, but I won't say it. No need for me to crap on former players in this thread. Already done that enough.

Back to X. Hope he can find a way to make it in the NFL, but I'm not seeing it as a punt returner.

I guess it was a nice little story basically a no star to starting game 1 true freshman which he gave up the most sacks in the country that year lol. No idea where the first round talk came from. I didn’t see it at all and then he got hurt.

Yes I hope he does too. But right now he’s a practice squad guy at best and maybe we will see him get a couple games on an active roster this year.

So several things:

1. This is y I said we can’t continue to be the home of UDFAs & late round draft picks. That’s not a flex.

2. X only produced 3 catches for 26 yrds in the pre-season on 6 targets.

3. This is y practice reports r to be taken w a grain of salt.
The fact that our WR 1 was a 5'9 200lb 4.8 WR was honestly sad. I'm very appreciative for everything X has done for the U but he's a WR3 on a top tier team and he was our WR1 by a long shot. You can either be short and extremely fast or tall and slow with great route running and a huge catch radius. What you cannot be is short and slow, which is catching up to him in the NFL.

Agreed. Hopefully the program continues to elevate. I would say they are heading in the right direction with the archetype of players on the current team.

I won’t take it that far, although I hear what u’re saying.

U can go back to my post history when he committed to us, but I was a big fan of Restrepo. I felt he was an under the radar gem for us. His career started off kinda shaky, but u can’t teach heart which I saw. He was a pitbull, & felt he was going to be a really good #2 or #3 for us.

To all of our surprise he became our #1. We can attribute that to part dog-mentality he possessed, & part lack of recruiting as that WR room has been a mess. Kudos to him for taking the proverbial bull by the horns & owning our record books. I will never have anything ill to say about X, b/c he put on for the school.

With that said, I also knew this would be the end of the line for him in regard to making an impact. There’s levels to this; I knew if he wasn’t a sub 4.6 guy, his fate was 6th Rd or lower b/c NFL GMs aren’t just looking at raw stats. They r now looking at measurable, intangibles, & athleticism to play at the next level. All of that plays a role; X tested poorly in 2 of the 3 major prerequisites.

U can be sub 5’10 as a WR, but u better test well athletically, & have intangibles. So for him, he’s going to need to catch on w a practice squad & just keep working. Get that 4.83 to around a 4.69. Re-composition his body to an NFL-like receiver body. Work on explosions, & stop & go techniques. Fortunately, he has that mentality, & hopefully he’ll be able to sign on to a practice squad.

I was waiting for it to rear its ugly head.

CIS' dreaded slow midget.

Yall will use this as a reason to downplay guys who were huge parts of us having an historically great offense last year

Yall think this automatically means the players we currently have are better

Then a harsh reality will hit yall again. Some players peak in college, some players won’t be great in the nfl but that doesn’t mean they are easy to replace at the college level

X is gonna make a roster
Making a roster is actually making the 53-man roster, which is impossible given the NFL season starts in less that two weeks. He got very few game reps in the preseason, so very little preseason production to catch another team's eye.

He's going to be on a practice squad. Likely with the Titans.
