So there is no such thing as a cant miss prospect. But we have a handful of kids coming to this campus that have all the tools to be big time talents at the college level.

On top of a few kids from last year. Its time for JD to prove us naysayers wrong. Ciscar, DeRias, etc need to come back better, We need 1-2 freshman to be dudes from day 1. And if he can land 2 more transfer arms the roster has enough to at least make it back to Supers if the offense plays out the way it looks on paper and no one has a monster slump. Ciscar, Evans, DeRias as our weekend guys as of today is not making me feel all warm and fuzzy. But Ciscar could be Mr Consistent and Evans, DeRias or maybe some else take that next step and then you never know.

A lot to be excited about...but we are still a roster that could easily implode and barely make or even miss a regional. A lot...A LOT of work to be done. But encouraging with what should make it to campus. I just wish we went all in on at least 1 of those bigger arms.

As a player, is this better? I get that they don't get the recognition of being drafted, but they can negotiate w anyone (or do unsigned guys out of eligibility do the same thing after waiting two weeks)?

Yep, "senior" is the operative word in the tweet. It's the reason it's difficult to get juniors back to campus when they are draft eligible, unless they think they can get into the very early rounds where MLB teams are competing for them, or their college team has a big NIL.

These players have no leverage and are also not great players so take it or you will probably never play pro ball again. They are drafted just for the slot savings. It’s cruel but it’s the system.
