2025 MLB Draft

That’s manageable to sign all our high school recruits?
Still too early to say without knowing their numbers to sign. Teams can also offer bonuses above slot from savings on other picks.

If they get drafted in Rounds 4-10 tomorrow, realistically Rounds 4-6 in most cases for a high end high school prospect, they’ll sign.

Let’s see how it unfolds tomorrow morning

Hearing Walters tomorrow in Round 4 is stamped and done. Ogden, after 7th round. Evans, teams have circled for if they have money laying around. Won’t be a lot, but would think he maybe gets a late pick in hopes of signing. Galvin, would take a bit with how many bats are left. Williams, same.

There’s an extent that you match. If a kid gets offered 500 grand, you do not match. You let him take his money and draw your attention elsewhere. Way too much to gamble trying to play big bank take little bank with a pro org.

What’s the max we’re willing to pay a high school kid per year?

So, do we get Ogden back if he goes 8th round or later, i.e. slot is only a couple hundred thousand or so for 8th - 9th round picks?

it looks like you gotta take all MLB draft predictions with a huge grain of salt. Dudes seem to get drafted no where near their projections. Hoping we comes back though!!!!!!

Did Walters agree to an underslot deal with a team already?

Ya, the early round slot values have gotten so high, it seems a lot of teams are getting players (mostly college) to agree to under slot amounts by taking them early and freeing up funds for high ceiling but unproven HS players.

Our only hope with ogden is past the 10th, he has the widest range of any of our players. Walters will be done quickly today and Evans in that 7-9 round range. I think we are good with galvin and Dwill
