2025 MLB Draft

I think at this point, we are just waiting on Ogden and Galvin. The HS commits might go in Rounds 11-20 as backup picks in case that team's earlier prep pick doesn't sign so they will give one of the commits his money.
No.HS kids don’t become “backup picks”. Older college guys do. Like Galvin, Williams, Ogden, Evans. Those guys sign for anything.

Or guys like Coppola at UF who were hurt most of the year, but have the frames that MLB loves in pitchers.

Yes, they do draft backup picks. You do not know how the MLB draft works. Teams will take high school guys in Rounds 11-20 in case they don't sign their high school picks in Rounds 1-10. Sometimes players don't pass physicals or just don't want to go pro. It happens. I can give a million examples of teams doing this.

Predictions are holding weight. We expected Timmy to not make it to campus. The other name to watch is Erick Peralta.

I would expect the rest of the commits to make it to campus, like we predicted last month 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

what's the "safe" pick # or slot amount that most HS will opt to make it to campus?

At this point 99% of HS players are not taking slot in these rounds. I would say anything above 500k would be the level of do I sign or not.

But then you have Bailan Caraballo take 125k last year so who knows really. lol.

@scane, Lance and others know a lot more than me, but I suspect it's more a matter of their projected value vs where they are taken, since they signal their bonus expectation, e.g. if they think they are worth 3rd or 4th round money but are selected a lot later and the team has no extra bonus pool money, they might make it to campus.
