I really don't get crying about the schedule.
We don't play Clemson, who is clearly the other best team in the league, pre-season.
We play our toughest opponent on paper, ND, at home, at night, and they have a new QB making his first college appearance.
We play one of the 3-4 best teams on the entire schedule, UiF, at home, in Week 4, and they are coming off a game AT Tennessee the week before.
We play 4 consecutive home games in our OOC schedule in September, then we have a week off to play at FSU, who will be average at best. FSU plays a road game, at UVA, the week before our game.
Then we get ANOTHER week off, and then host Louisville on a Friday night, another night game, at home.
At SMU will be a tough game, but they don't have some incredibly raucous atmosphere there. We're not going to the Big House. And on November 1, it likely won't be snowing sideways.
The last 5 weeks are kinda iffy. AT SMU as I mentioned, 2 straight at home against Syracuse and NC State, then back to back road games to end the season at VT and Pitt. Would I have rather played one of those at home? Sure. But we have 8 home games, and Miami has one of the best home records in the ACC over the past several seasons. We went undefeated at home last year, and every game except for VT was a boat-racing. The 2 cold-weather games are against VT and Pitt, who went 6-6 and 7-5 last year, respectively. We're not playing at ND in November. We're not playing at Clemson.
The schedule is fine.
