2024 Recruiting

We've had a pretty good run of recruiting the Philly area:

Bethea
Wooga
Davon Reed
Ja'Quan Newton
Lonnie Walker (technically Reading, which is about an hour away but believe AAU team was Philly-based)
Davon Reed is technically a New Jersey player (grew up in Ewing Township, NJ and went to Princeton Day School nearby). Only 35 miles from Philly so easy enough to count him like Lonnie (Reading is roughly 60 miles from Philly).

What about Zay Wong, though? He grew up in central New Jersey (Piscataway), played in 9th and 10th grade in the Trenton, NJ area, and finished up his last couple years of HS ball in Philly's tough Catholic League at Msgr Bonner. He's definitely a legit Philly baller.

Not exactly in the current "run" but maybe Miami's best modern day NBA player developed to date is John Salmons, who played, like Bethea, in the Philly suburbs. In Salmon's case, at Plymouth-Whitemarsh HS.

Manny of them are/were part of the same AAU program as noted in a recent article about Bethea. And our asst coach DJ Irving was part of that program. We definitely have an “in”with that program.

SF Isaiah Johnson-Arigu - On3 updated the visit list. Looks like Isaiah visited last week with Jalil.
