You just opened up a can of worms Tony. Like Pizza or anything of this kind, you will get varied answers and of course, it is particular with what you like. Depending on if you prefer your meat chopped or slabs of ribeye, you could get redirected to different venues. Here are some of my opinions

Dalessandros: Excellent. Meat is very finely chopped up. Seasoned well. (15 minutes off the beaten path) Tends to be longer lines than others
Joes Steak and Soda: Becoming one of my favorites
Steve's Prince of Steaks: Delicious. Cant go wrong. Slabs of ribeye
Jim's: Been hit and miss with me but has a huge fan base. Go to the original establishment if you have a choice on South St.. Chopped meat
Sonny's: Very good. Slabs
John's Roast Pork: One of my favorites. Really really good. Chopped
Campo's: Dont bother
Ishkabibbles: Only had it once..was horrible...but some people swear by it.
Tony Luke's: Weak..gone downhill
Chubby's: Little place right across the street from Dalessandro's if you want to try 2 different ones right next to each other. Decent Cheesesteak

Did ISH earlier this year.....late night...sh*t was hood as **** but it was solid ill say. Gonna try the others next go round.

That's Kevin Hart's favorite spot and his neighborhood as well.
And a lot of ppl's favorite spot.
Right next door is a seafood shop that (from what I heard) cooks some bomb seafood. Dunno, allergic to seafood, but if @SWFLHurricane has been to Max's I wonder if he been to the seafood jawn next door. Also shows my guy has balls of steel. See yall at the Titanic, my money on @SWFLHurricane cause I guaranteed he went to Max's BY HIMSELF.
Max's is ridiculous....my son lives in PA. In the Mahoning Valley/Leighton...been to Philly many times with him. Can't go wrong with Dalassandros.

Angelo's best cheesesteak and pizza. Hit up Reading Terminal Market for a roast pork also

Was up there for Made in America festival Labor Day weekend. Went to a spot called Woodrow’s . Philly was awesome, truffle wiz. Great fish n chip style fries give u vinegar to pour over them. I ate there twice.
