Thanks!! Out of your list, only have heard of Tony Luke's

Can't believe all the choices!! Lol

Guess would be chopped type of guy but definitely willing to give one of the best options a try!!
There are still a bunch of honeyholes I havent even tried yet. For your calibration, Geno's and Pats are both slab ribeye, not chopped.

If you are a foodie and have time on your trip, go to the Reading Terminal Market. For a foodie, its like a pervert walking into a whorehouse. So many great things.

See, can't even remember style

All I have here in OH for choices is Jersey Mike's, Penn Station & Charley's lol

Not too much here in CT to brag about either. Thats why at least twice a year, I hop in the car with a buddy on a Sat morning and take a day drive into Philly with a few coolers in my trunk. I pop around a few spots, eating along the way and filling my coolers up to give out to some friends back home

Lots of truths in here. I’ll get Pat’s when I land as tradition.

I’ll bring Pat’s back to FL for my brother if I’m going to see him shortly after I get back.

Angelo's best cheesesteak and pizza. Hit up Reading Terminal Market for a roast pork also
Never tried Angelo's. Will have to add that one to my list. Dinic's Roast Pork sandwich in the Terminal with the sharp provolone and broccoli rabe is delicious. I actually now get it without the broc rabe. The flavors of the pork is so good that I dont want too much interfering with it.

Love it. Im not trying to mess with your tradition, but just a little tip Ive found.... Geno's travels better than Pats. I actually prefer Pats a little more of the 2. But they put the meat on the hoagie 1st and then the wiz on top. So the wrapper and wiz sort of gets stuck together and pulls off a little when you unwrap it after your trip. Geno puts the wiz on 1st and the meat on the outside.

Probably sharing too much but these are the dumb things me and my buddy discuss on a 6 hour road trip LOL.

To your earlier point, the cheesesteak debate can get deep, but I’ll say this, while I’m a Pat’s guy by tradition, depending on where you are in the City, there are spots all over the place that have different types of steak sandwiches that are better than you’ll get outside of Philly…

Don’t judge the Philly cheesesteak as a whole by grabbing a Tony Luke’s at the airport being made by a sweet middle aged Indian woman…

That would be like judging NY Pizza by eating one slice at sbarros vs tasting a bunch of places to realize it is overrated…

Delassandros crushes them both. By far the best in Philly imo.

In comparison since I was just over in IL and had Al's Beef Sandwich

That would be chopped, correct? If someone knows!!??
