6’0 170lbs 4-star CB out of Dallas TX, goes to 5A school South Oak Cliff

Finished his Junior season with 68tcks 6PBU’s & 3INT’s

Played on a really good 5A team that went 15-1 on the season winning their State championship vs Liberty Hill, their only loss on the season was against powerhouse Duncanville.

Versatile two-way athlete that plays WR, Nickel, Boundary & Safety. He’s very good against the run engaging & shedding blockers to get after the ball carrier & has good tackling skills in the open field. He’s raw a pure cover corner, they mostly play him at Nickel & Safety & is primarily an off cover zone style corner, he plays a lot of bail technique, but in the instances where he had to lineup in press man playing bump & run, he displayed good physicality. He has a very natural fluid hips in his speed turn & has very good ball skills, WR hands & athleticism. But, tends to two-hand jam too much & that can be dangerous for a CB who doesn’t really play the position as much, needs to be taught how to be a true corner, is more athlete that CB, but has very good tools & high athletic upside. Good speed, long stride runner & great arm length, literally has a WR build but playing at DB, A+ traits.

His teammates Jayvon Thomas & his twin brother Abdul are also high 4-star CB’s in the 23 class. They all play for Team Flex 7v7 out of Dallas & are coached by one of the best DB coaches in the area Coach Flight (who I’ve mentioned before when we were recruiting Ennis Rakestraw & Marvin Covington).

He was offered by the last staff, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was re-offered by Mario & the current staff.

Although, it appears TRob & DVD are still the same ones who would be offering him, so maybe not lol.

Either way, it’s good they got him down this early for a visit.

He could be tough to pull away from the TX schools, but with NIL, everybody is possibly available.

One of the nation's top juniors is spending the first weekend of the January contact period at Miami as Dallas South Oak Cliff Top247 cornerback Malik Muhammad tells 247Sports that he's in Coral Gables.

Muhammad, who the 247Sports Composite pegs as the nation's No. 6 corner in the class of 2023, reports close to 50 scholarship offers from schools around the country. He started as a junior for a South Oak Cliff program that won a UIL 5A-Division II state championship totaling 68 tackles, six pass break ups and three interceptions in 14 games according to MaxPreps.

The 247Sports' Crystal Ball doesn't currently hold any forecasts for Muhammad, who spent some time at IMG Acadmey in Bradenton, Fla. last spring.

Muhammad isn't the only notable prospect at Miami this weekend as the Hurricanes are also hosting five-star defensive lineman Shemar Stewart for an unofficial visit on Saturday. A pair of unsigned 2022 offensive linemen are also in town on official visits in four-star Dave Iuli and three-star Matthew McCoy per InsideTheU’s Gaby Urrutia.
