2022 WR Luther Burden receives offer

6'2 194lbs 4-star WR out of STL MO, goes to 3A school Cardinal Ritter College Prep.

Dual sport athlete that plays both Football & Basketball.

Had a great Sophomore season with 45rec 855yds & 15TD's.

Is natural athlete who is a high level Basketball player & football player. Has good top end speed but not necessarily a pure blazer. Wins at all 3 levels of the Defense as a traditional X-wide out. Has good strength & plays with physicality, creates separation at the top of his routes & understands how to use his upper body to box out DB's & create space. The routes @1:20 & 2:03 on his tape were nice. Has good breakaway speed in the open field & good wiggle/change of direction. Not a really a refined route runner because they mostly just run him on Bubble screens, Slants, Go routes & an occasional Dig. Has very good hands. Plays like Bryan Robinson from the 2020 class.

High ranked 4-star with a 95 rating comes from a region LOADED with talent in STL from schools like DeSmet, Lutheran North, Trinity Catholic, ESTL, etc.. His school Cardinal Ritter produces good talent as well;

- 2021 3-star RB Bill Jackson committed to Tulsa
- 2020 3-star DE Joe Moore signed with AZ St
- 2019 4-star WR Jameson Williams signed with Oh St
- 2019 3-star WR Cameron Coleman signed with Western Mich
- 2019 3-star CB Caleb Roberson signed with Wyoming

Also some good Basketball players have come from there.

They still making Luthers?? In 2020?? "Luther Burden" sounds like the ruthless villain in an old soap opera or comic strip.

wondering if the feeling is OU already recruiting over them with next year's class...

Their 247 writer claims it's partly because there is no QB in this class. He says no QB classes make it harder to recruit/keep high level WR. Not many buying that on their board; they already have a 5 star as a backup and aonther 5 star committed for 2023...

The quotes for the young man about wanting to play in an offense that throws the ball and spreads it around, are inconsistent with his decision to de-commit from OU. And considering that he’s the 3rd receivread to de-commit, tells my there is much more going on at OU than no quarterback in the class. OU has a history of producing good qb’s and offenses under Riley so this also doesn’t make sense.
I’m not taking a guess as to what is happening because none of us know.

On one hand you have history suggesting kids committing over a year from their signing day don't stick with their first commit, and on another you have to think that OU just lost a 5* and will do whatever they have to get and keep Innis committed ($$$).

One of their decommits, Talyn Shettron flipped to Okie State because they also took his twin brother who is a low 3 star TE.

The QB part is weird because one committed to SMU who doesn't have a QB committed to them right now
