Im really surprised Smith isn’t in the rotation or in a key relief spot.

No kidding; we have a guy who throws 100 MPH and he's not in the immediate picture. I hope our depth is that good and there aren't behind the scene issues or an injury.

Maybe Smith will be the midweek starter. It's weird to have so much potential talent (Baseball America ranked our roster the 3rd best in the country in terms of MLB Draft talent), yet have almost every pitcher except maybe Federman be someone we don't have a great idea how they'll perform
