Reminder of GR15 in high school.

Right now he looks like a comic book character. After seeing his vertical and broad jump numbers I thought he might run around 4.8, but 4.69u is a good time for him. He's a giant and maybe is still getting used to all that extra mass, only a few years ago he was 209 pounds. After a couple of years, maybe some flexibility/agility training, he could really take off. I don't think he moved up a ton or down in terms of draft position, solidly mid-late 1st.

That's why Phillips was the #1 player in high school, his testing numbers are terrific and remember, he's only an inch shorter and about 5 pounds lighter than Greg. My G-Men need a pass rusher badly at pick #11, would love Jaelan.

Not as jacked.

Jaelan Phillips says he Zoomed with Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin the other day.

Jalen Phillips is the best defensive player in this draft. Hands down! Injuries or not, he has the size, speed, athleticism and most of all... a motor that no one can match. Rosseau to me... is a HUGE project that will fail miserably or succeed tremendously. No in between. After watching him this pro day, especially seeing as how he sat out 2020, I wasn’t too impressed. But he’s a cane and I want nothing but success for him
GR will be the better Pro and will light this league up. Bank it, Smoke it, Stuff it....

Based on what I saw from on-field performances, I never saw anything from GR that was close to what I saw from JP in 2020. Phillips was as dominant against the run as he was the pass. And he played all over the field. GR was closer to a pass rushing specialist. I realize the GR's measurables are like crack for an NFL GM but from a production standpoint, JP was notably better in 2020.

Heck I'll come out and say it, I AM a bit annoyed that GR sat out the 2020 season. Its one thing to sit out a mid level bowl game out of concern for injury & draft status but to sit out an entire season just to use UM as a vehicle to showcase how well he can perform in the weight room was highly inappropriate IMO.

And no Im not saying I want the kid to fail or anything close to that, but calling him out for sitting out the season is perfectly acceptable as a fan IMO.

Some of you guys dogging GR15 are nuts..

The guy is still learning how to play DL, and will have a long NFL career because of his versatility. By the time he matures, He'll be a 4-3 SDE, a 3-4 End, and 4-3 3T on passing downs... These types of guys are what exactly makes a defense! Plus, from all accounts, hes a hard worker and a joy to be around. I love JP but once an edge rusher loses that twitch, it's a rap! It wouldnt surprise me to see GR15 hovering around 295-310 lbs in a few years and being a real PROBLEM!

That said, it's good to be arguing which future cane will become a pro bowler first... havent had these kinda talks in awhile!!!!!
