Miami Offers Fort Lauderdale 2019 DB

Defensive back Josh Sanguinetti (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./University School) said Miami offered.

Hurricanes assistant Ron Dugans stopped by the school this morning and delivered the verbal offer.

"I love the tradition at Miami," Sanguinetti said. "I love how coach (Mark) Richt is turning around the program. This was one of my dream offers."

Temple, Rutgers, Mississippi State and Syracuse have also offered the 2019 prospect.

Are we recruiting his as WR or DB? Looks really nice at both - love his hips.

Nice. This kid adopted? With that last name I expected him to look more like Frank Gabriel.

Sanguinetti, a highly-regarded 2019 safety at Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University School, has racked up additional offers from Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, LSU and USC among others.

"Stanford, UM, Ohio State, FSU, Florida and LSU," Sanguinetti said when asked about leaders. "Stanford and UM are really standing out right now."

Staying put in South Florida would provide Sanguinetti's loved ones with the opportunity to snag front row seats to all of his home games inside Hard Rock Stadium.

"I love the campus," Sanguinetti said of Miami. "Plus, it's close to my house so my parents can always come see me play. "They also have a tremendous coaching staff."

Sanguinetti, 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, views Stanford as the total package when it comes to the perfect blend of academics and athletics.

"Going there, I will be set for life if football doesn't work out," Sanguinetti said. "The DBs coach (Duane Akina) there is a great guy, and he has put a lot of DBs in the NFL. "They have top-notch education."

Sanguinetti, who is waiting until his senior year before making a verbal commitment, dishes out a flurry of visit destinations for over the summertime.

"I don't have it finalized yet, but I plan on visiting Tennessee, Clemson, Stanford, North Carolina, Ohio State, FSU and Florida," Sanguinetti said.

I like anyone who lists Stanford. Means he's taking academics seriously. I've always said Miami, USC, and Stanford would be the 3 schools I choose from.

I actually pushed my cousin into choosing Stanford a few years ago over Tennessee and gave him advice to stay as far away from D'onofrio as possible when Miami offered. Killed me to tell him that.. he probably wouldn't have chosen Miami regardless.. but for a DE a few years ago Miami was the last place you wanted to go. Looking back, he'd probably been better off here. He loves Stanford but never in a million years did I think we'd have Kool
